Start flight from water using a custom departure?
Any ideas on how to start a flight from the water if you are using a seaplane?

Googled a lot and nothing has come back.

Thanks

You must find a Port with an ANCHOR Icon. Use Google for a list but it also has a Filter for these I think.

Thanks for the huge list of water runways. I downloaded the PDF instantly.

or you can spawn on usual parking spot and by active pause move aircraft to wather and start from there

You could also use fsxmap.com to find water aerodromes. However, water aerodromes are not shown correctly if you select FS2020 (upper right corner). Instead select FSX and then scroll to the area you want to fly from and locate water aerodromes in that area. You can use the filter to show only water runways as well. A nice feature with the filter is you can select runways with specific surface types (asphalt, concrete, water, dirt, gravel, grass, etc).

And I have a suggestion for Asobo. That is to change the settings for amphibious aircraft so you can click on any water surface to start a flight on the water. I purchased a boat for MSFS and when I select it I can click on the water anywhere to start the boat on the water at the location I select for departure. Why can't I do that with an amphibious aircraft?

+1 Yes. In fact there should be a feature to start any aircraft at 0' AGL at any location. Not only do amphibs always start at sea level, but many bush aircraft, rescue aircraft, cropdusters/loggers/commercial operations, etc. start out in non-airport areas on the ground. This 1500 ft default or whatever it is is okay as an option, but not necessarily as a default.

Likely some jiggery pokery with the cruise.flt file. Like not giving it a cruise speeds and setting the on ground variable to true.

For default aircraft you could test renaming the apron.flt file cruise.flt. Make backups or do it as a mod.
