Changing the Simulation Rate
Having issues changing the simulation rate in the game. The key map says that it's supposed to be 'R' and then -/= to change the rate. Problem is, the - and = are mapped to the camera functions. So, I remapped the camera functions to different keys so there's no conflict, but I still can't change the simulation rate. Any ideas?

You have to map it to R + - and R + +

It works for me if I hit R and then hold CRTL using +/- on the NUMPAD. It doesn't show your acceleration rate though and when you slow it back down all the way it's actually like half speed.

EDIT: I realize this is an old post but someone may find it useful.

Ctrl + Alt + - or + on the keypad works. Why can't they make it easier?

It would be nice if they had an option for it in the toolbar like in FSX.

I just use bind keys to "Increase Sim Rate" and "Decrease Sim Rate" and just ignore the activation button. An indicator how fast you are running would have been nice, but i hit decrease so it comes to an almost halt, then push increase 2 times and i'm back to a normal simulation rate.

What does that do, change the accuracy of the sim or does it speed up time?

"Easier"? Ha! You haven't tried recording controlled flight from a stationary camera then... Now that is really something to ponder "why can't they make it easier?"

Time compression. Lets just say, that you may want to NOT speed up time too fast in smaller aircraft and you can use higher time acceleration in larger, less flimsy aircraft.

How hard is pressing two keys?

There you go again, angry about even a hint of complaint...

But what about my point above though? Isn't exactly easy, eh? ;)

Who's angry? I think calling hitting to keys isn't very hard. That is an opinion. I am allowed to have a different opinion. I know it is hard for you to understand, but everyone else isn't always angry like you. I can tell you are unstable because now you are stalking me.

You are literally everywhere with your "MFS is fine, it's you who is the idiot!" attitude, so it's hard not to come across you...
Edit: but if you meant the 172 thread, I was just surprised that sometimes you can come up with reasonable things, is all. In fact, it looks like we share the same opinion not all that rarely. But I'm surprised with your behavior otherwise...

I actually think MSFS is fine. That is my opinion. It is you who can't handle that. You are the one calling people names who don't agree with you. You are acting like you are quoting me, but you are just making things up that I never said.

Are you alright? "Attitude" doesn't meant "the same exact words". But your general behavior boils down to exactly that. And you just admitted at least the first half of it (and I'm not really interested in digging the forums for the second half).
As for MFS being "fine"... A day or two ago some users lost access to their Premium stuff. I wasn't among them for whatever reason (and I'm happy about that), so I tried to figure out what was going on and possibly help them (which I failed at).
Turned out it was Microsoft, as they admitted it and fixed the issue. But in your own personal little world "MFS is fine". Well...

You are not interested in "digging around the forums" to find where I called people idiots, because it doesn't exist, because you just made it up. As a matter of fact, you just guess and make stuff up about people regularly, which is one of the mean reason I have given you attitude.
