Autopilot is completely broken now

For people who just want to fly a little, this won't be important. But when I want to do long-haul flights and the autopilot regularly fails, it's annoying. This not only happens with the A320, but with all airliners. I cannot say whether this is also the case with the smaller aircraft.
I don't want to use countless paid add-ons from third-party developers who are completely unknown to me just to be able to play this sim. I also think there is no add-on that fixes the broken Ai.

BUT WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Suddenly, randomly, out of nowhere, the plane leans into the curve at a 90% angle and sinks at 6000+ feet/ min, or the plane does not follow the route but flies parallel, kilometers away, or he ignores waypoints, and similar disturbances. Such things should happen if I want to, and should be set under "Deliberate failures" in the options. But not on regular flights, over and over again. I know that the copilot has been broken since release (land-crash next to the runway, does not take off at takeoff, ignores speed alert, etc ...). But the autopilot is essential, because no pilot in the world today steers an airliner for 5+ hours by hand.

I always hope for the next patch, but somehow I don't see any progress. Except for the crash bug, which has been fixed. Which the devs previously created with the previous patch.

It would be great if the devs would finally work on it, many weeks after the release, not just doing Japan updates and similar dispensable things ...

I had these same issues as you with the AP; in IFR flights, in critical moments of the flight (takeoff and landing) the AP gains a life of its own, banking right, not following NAV routes, it's very frustrating. Not only this, in some flights, while taxiing and or during takeoff the plane suddenly blacks out, all systems turn off and there's absolutely nothing I can do, "resetting" the plane inflight does absolutely nothing, useless. My flight log is full of [vicinity] flights because they all ended in crash after the plane behaved like this.

Yes, we all are. And when the game came out I could fly 787 and 320 with 0 issues. I started flight sim with FS2000, I know the whole thing...

A new BUG besides the random MDF not working was introduced in the last Sim Update:

• VHF1 KNOB in COMMS can go into constant turning (mid-left centre console)
  
  I did Restart Flight 5 times and it didn't fix it. I had to grab the knob to force it to stop

No, also because considering I paid some good money in order to buy the top edition of FS I would like the default thing to works, just as all default plane worked flawlessly in the past 25 years...

The top wish on the feedback snapshot as of 4/1/2021 is the FBW Community Mod and it says Approach - Started and Release - 2021. As for the default things working for the past 25 years? I beg to differ honestly and I've been in this hobby for a very long time myself. The stock 737-800 in FSX is so limited in it's functionally and it uses the default Garmin GPS 500. I have a MCP from CPflight and some of the functions won't even work with the stock 737-800.

An easier way as a termp work around can be to just set the desired altitude in the default flight planner to something higher than 10,000 so you are not stuck cruising at 250kts, lol, and just hand the controls over to the AI copilot.

I usually forget to set the desired altitude in the flight planner, lol.

Yep, I do my best to make the simulation as closest to the real thing as possible, I'm trying to isolate the problem tweaking with my yoke settings, pedal settings, anything taht could "generate" this erratic behaviour. So far no sucess, but still trying.

I've been seeing a number of these pop up recently, are you too using the stock A320neo or FBW A320neo? Given your first sentence I'm going to assume the latter, is this correct? If so try swapping to the branch you're not currently using.

Tested this today and indeed the stock a320 is chasing final runway on my transition using AP. The actual 320 itself has not changed though since it's last update. Probably a general AP issue again.

The new FWB A320NX development version works perfect. I have been flying it all day ILS the lot, AP is spot on

I also was unable to clear my vertical speed setting after lining up for the glide slope. Selecting managed altitude with this bug means managed altitude won't light up. It still worked though and captured the glide slope however this sim is still going backwards after 7 months. Autopilot bank angle is also broken on stock a320 and has been since UK update. Absolute trash Asobo.

You have to use the NX32 mod yep. Preferably the one with its own autopilot and not the stock code. Its Hot garbage and getting worse.

Least my ILS was aligned right though this time. 50/50 wether it works or not so I havent flown live weather wince they broke the AP. Months and months later same bugs are back that they broke so much to fix lol.
