MSFS 2024 showcase event and objects popping in
So like many by now. Group of content creators were invited to the MSFS 2024 showcase event. Some of the content creators uploads of them playing MSFS 2024 at the event. Shows various objects popping in at last minute. Like terminals, ground equipment etc etc.
My understanding with this for FS2020 was a pre cache issue. This looks this has not resolved for the new MSFS 2024?

During FS 2020 the community barked at the sheer amount of download data during installation and updates. Now MS has choosen not to download data in front but during gameplay. In both cases you need fast internet. But with Fs 2024 they use the thin client model so everything has to be downloaded during gameplay. Instead of wooping 300GB download in front now you only download 30 GB and 250GB needs to be downloaded during gameplay. See, 2024 is just as big as 2020 (or even bigger). but everything is downloaded on the fly. I can imagine that MS's servers cant handle such demand and textures pop up as they are being downloaded and processed buy the GPU while being in game. But we will see. Im going to wairt at least a month before i buy. I dont thrust the new thin client model.

Yeah this is noticeably in many videos. We'll have to wait and see how the final version works out on average simmers PC setups. Hopefully it was just LoD or graphic settings kept low but if they have tweaked the game engine to draw closer object with more detail and detract from the far scenery, that will be definite pause for concern.

I doubt very much that you will be downloading 250gb when you play.....that would be 8 hours for me.

You will have to download data as you play but it won't be anywhere near that much, unless you're doing a really long flight....

Where do you get your information? Care to provide a source?
This is the second thread where you are saying things that are wrong. No one is perfect, but you keep on saying these things.
As @Mondyrocks says, you wont be downloading huge amounts whilst flying. Just the area that you are in.

The area that you are flying is going to be rather large b/c if they continually stream that would be a lot of bandwidth. Likely what will happen is it will stream in a 'cell' and go from there. The cell size is what will matter. They won't be streaming in pixel perfect where you are. It is going to be cell based....and FS 2020 is cell based as well. That stutter is when the new cells load in and old cells are removed from memory. I don't see how they ever get around this.

So you either go chunky or chatty.

No BETA/ALPHA nor even a DEMO to TRY BEFORE YOU CRY.
Just wait it out and find out what ppl get on what system they have.
Needing 100mbps with 64GB RAM is high demand and way above any XBOX.
I think CUSTOMERS just want a GAME THAT IS PLAYABLE to look NICE not beat the hell out of their finances.
It does NOT look good by no FREE UPGRADE nor FREE DEMO. Just a fecking money grab.

Little early to call it a money grab. But it does look suspect based on the pre-release videos. I will grant you that.
