Flying by hand and manually operating trim is fine. Switching to autopilot sometimes pegs the trim to its top or bottom setting which is not fine at all. From what I know, the fix should show up in around ten days or so.
I couldn't figure out how much helpful it really is. The AI is messing around with trimming quite a lot, which causes permanent changes you end up fighting against.
no
you enable it anytime as all the other piloting aid.
When it is activated it will always adjust trimming with a little delay to current pitch.
So in example.
Without AT you pull on the stick and point your nose say to 15 ° pitch. If you release the stick without any manual trimming the nose will pitch down again.
With AT enabled you pull the stick and hold it for a second or two, then release the stick and the auto trimming will set trim so that the nose will not go down but stay at 15° pitch. To get the nose down you will have to push the stick and again wait until AT has adjusted the trimming for the new pitch.
I think it may be helpful when using a gamepad or keayboard maybe. With a joystick or mouse i didn't find it helpful as you find yourself fighting against it.
