The alternative is to use an APU or Auxililary Power Unit which supplies power when the aircraft engines are not running. Not all aircraft have these.
Most GA or General Aviation aircraft do not require external power, but there are some that are configured to make use of it should they choose to.
VTBS>VTCC:
Simbrief shows only 2 Runways for VTBS 01L/19R & 01R/19L where as WORLD MAP shows 3 Runways with only one for 01R/19L & other are for 2+20 L/R. This is already a mess.
WORLD MAP does not draw SIDS after selecting any but STARS at VTCC do draw.
Plane does NOT load any SID due to being WORLD MAP only.
VTBD>VTCC:
No issues in WORLD MAP nor SIMBRIEF (this Plane does not Import this but says we can in Settings not found)
Plane is dropped onto the GATE by about 3ft and FSRealistic applauds for a minute.
GROUND POWER is "AVAIL" and no issues starting up.
ATC does not allow me to access CLEARANCE at HOLDING SHORT even though I used Assign To Co-Pilot without issues above.
Plane loads full SID and no other issues.
Perhaps this 787 HEAVY is not allowed to fly from here in the first instance as IRL as it is no longer the Longhaul International as before. It does not have a LARGE GATE due to this. SO that might match the dropping Plane at spawn at the Gate and you may need to have your Plane added on a compatible List due to yours being the 3rd Party -9 Variant. Try other Planes.

3 runways clear from the photo. But only 18 / 36 is in use. The others are closed.
I have noticed some Bing imagery showing yellow X's on runways that are currently in use and/or active. KBWG airport is completely messed up in FS 2020 both graphically and in ATC. ATC has it completely screwed up.
There is an ILS approach for a an airport in the northeastern USA where the ILS for the runway does not line up with the runway at all. I ran into this twice. I had Maki do the flight and he swears it works, but I've been there twice and it was not correct.
Likewise there are many fields in FS 2020 that should have lights, but do not and some that have PCL but are dark in FS 2020 and since PCL is not working in FS 2020, they are unusable at night.
1. Both airports worked fine until the last AIRAC update, and no one as Asobo seems to know why and no timeframe to resolve.
2. Many broken airports with jetways, taxiways and missing/incorrect Nav Aids, and Asobo doesn't consider these and many others as fundamental bugs.
Indeed, and Asobo has released 2024 half baked again with trees in middle of runway, airports with no Nav Aids, etc. etc. They have a small army of white knights who will tell newbies to buy payware airports, aircrafts and subscribe to Navigraph or Beyond ATC. Sometimes I wonder if the white knights get freebies or kick backs out of these. Some have misled newbies to skip 2020 and buy 2024 - the smart ones learn and refund faster than "we told you so"
Indeed, does it require more than 3 days for default Map to read flight route from Simbrief or vice versa?
Forgot to mention after I flew VOR to VOR from VTBD to VTSP last night (cos that's the only way I could get the FMC to light up in my Dreamliner), I had to manually input RNAV 09 for arrival in FMC. When I was about to touch down on Rwy 09 at VTSP, game froze and shows Flight Sim as not responding in Win Tas Mgr. I wonder if the simmer on the ground see my Dreamliner frozen mid air or I just disappear
I must confess I do not understand the white knight mentality. Unless there is financial gain involved I have no idea why anyone would blindly white knight for any company. For me personally even if there was financial gain involved I would still not turn a blind eye to obvious issues.
But to tell people who paid anywhere from 70 to 200 for a game that does not work on their system or has tons of issues that stop them from enjoying the game that they are just haters shows a level of arrogance and smugness I just cannot agree with.
I don't think anyone is asking for perfection. But we are asking for quality. Quality is hard to judge but when you can start an application and within 5 minutes see an issue, I do not call that quality. I do not call that well tested. The steps to reproduce are not hard. It is these kinds of issues that really boggle my mind. Now if it is an issue where you must perform 10 steps to reproduce I kind of understand those being much more difficult to find and fix. But the issues we are talking about are in your face and happen ever single time you play the game. That just should not happen.
