Standard to Premium delux Upgrade Through steam
I had a question. If i buy the Premium Delux for CAD 79.99 during the sale period will the copy of my existing standard edition get upgraded or will i need to link another MS account to get it for that price. Because it is cheaper than the in game market place upgrade 🤡.

If you buy an UPGRADE then you get an UPGRADE so long as it matches the same Platform (MS Store OR Steam). Same when ASOBO will offer us all a FREE UPGRADE to MSFS2024 by asking them enough.

My guess is that buying a more expensive version will simply overwrite your Standard version content. I have the Microsoft Store version (I started with Standard and then I bought the Premium Deluxe upgrade) so I don't know for sure.

I don't know how that works. It will be a different purchase and thus a different product key. Same customer computer and IP. That might mean that all purchased DLC addons might not transfer over to the 'upgrade' because of a different key. 3rd party vendors might not allow it or have the capability to change it on a individual case basis.

It might be worth asking Asobo/MS/Steam first. The three purchase levels are a bit confusing and stupid imo. The high upgrade prices are meant to encourage impulse buying and punish being cheap. With a unique flight sim as good as MSFS either get the PD or another sim like IL-2 or DCS which charges big money for all the extras.

So here is the reply i got from MSFS cs:
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Flight Simulator Support
today.
This should not be a problem. The purchase willjust grant the additional entitlements to the gamertag associated to the Steam ID which purchased it.

My honest opinion is not to bother...just stick to the standard edition....

True enough. I mean I really enjoy Premium, but I like the planes it comes with. If you don't care for them or the airports, then save your money. You have to be a nut like me to want to pay extra, and you don't seem like a nut at all.

Unless you are rich and money means nothing to you. In which case, you need to take all of the money you can find in your house right now, put it in an envelope, and mail it to Twelvefield c/o STEAM. Someone will make sure I get it.

MSFS on sale is a hot dog and drink for two at the sports ball stadium.
Or an hourly lease payment on the Escalade.

If your going to use your brain to spend hours staring at a screen, make it a optimal one.

Done, please confirm upon receipt.

I already did this and it works fine. If you bought one version on Steam and want to upgrade to another higher version on Steam, it works fine. However, I would recommend buying the version you want the first time (perhaps it is too late for that) as the upgrade system for this product is not the best and the pricing model is quite suspect.
