We have a 1 GBit connection and when flying FS2024 is is constantly downloading with 250-300 MBit. CONSTANTLY.
If you consider there are ups and downs - i would nail it down to ~200 MBit permanent traffic.
This means ~80 Gb per HOUR of gameplay with streaming.
I don't know how much of that is ending up as "TB written" on my NMVE SSD.
So... happy me, enjoying a proper non-online FS2020 will all the stuff i own there.
Why should i buy 2024, it's the same game and they need to optimise it, you can fly the same world...
When it's 2030, i might consider buying MSFS 2024, because then that version will be optimised with my hardware.
If it goes on sale for 75% off or more, I might get it.
Did MS do ANY research into userbenchmark data on average available free drive space (if that was available), recent sales of larger drives with new or upgraded computers, forum complaints about not having enough room to install, average ping from existing and/or potential MSFS users, costs to Microsoft to maintain reliable connections, etc...
Before basing the entirety of their next market share investment for newest flight sim on this pure bs "online-only" model?
Here is a hint:
No user is going to buy hundreds of dollars of DLC if they can't start and use the [damn] game.
