Hang in Xbox login

Things were working fine, and then I spent a couple of months away from the game. Came back last week to find an NVIDIA driver update, which I installed. Started game and it comes up okay, but then hangs on a screen where it wants to login to Xbox. I cannot get the game to respond after that screen appears.

I tried to revert the driver, and NVIDIA's dashboard said it did - but no change in game behavior. Of course, the game has also been updated, so hard to point to one or the other as the root cause.

Tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game, but no joy there either.

Any help appreciated. Afraid I am totally stuck.

No joy, I'm afraid. I tried doing it outside the game before starting it, but that made no difference. I then tried it in the game where it was stuck, and that toggled between making the screen huge and back again. No impact on being frozen.

Perhaps I misunderstood the advice?

Should note that I can play other Steam games just fine, including aviation games such as DCS. So this does appear to be something specific to Flight Sim.

Is there a login box on screen for you to sign in to??
This is what your original post implies.

The only way to log in is with full screen (for some reason the downloader is stupid and won't accept any details on a windowed screen....something that has been a constant problem since release and it's never been fixed)

Occasionally, my pc goes onto both of my monitors, instead of just one and it's a matter of hunting about for the box until you find it....

If you're using more than one screen it might be hindering your attempts to sign in....

Wow - you nailed it! I have double monitors, and the stupid splash screen falls across them so I cannot see the bottom half of the xbox login. Something must have changed to break things as this worked for over a year! Anyway, it took some flashing back/forth between double-monitor and single-monitor mode to get thru it. Hopefully, it will leave me logged in now so I can avoid this mess.
