but old FS2020 sceneries and airports (don't know about the planes) should still work and don't have to be rebought,
I don't know about airplanes buying on steam. MSFS has an own integrated market and at least I buy from there (microsoft acount) but then I have the microsoft version not the steam one. steam however is just a launcher so I guess thats the same for all.
However when it comes to aircraft the free flybywire A320neo is awesome and all I personel need. I am sure in case it is not compatible flybywire will make a MSFS2024 modell too.
MSFS2024 is a "new version" which in a technical sense is an "upgrade" of this version in the same way this version was an "upgrade" of FSX. FSX was the starting point for this game and parts were improved and rebuilt. Same is happening with MSFS2024.
Sorry for any confusion from my part.
It looks like 2020/2024 (2024 it's not released yet, i understand now) are practically the same engine/software, but getting renewed over time.
I think i will just deepdive into MSFS the current version.
No worries!
Obviously parts were stripped away or upgraded, like the rendering engine and over time things have further changed but there is still FSX in this title. The evidence is also there within the game.
Hmm, probably depends, I know Carenado were pretty bad from the FSX to P3D upgrade, they did charge a small Fee for the swap, but I didn't have any other problems with other Developers.
At the end of the day, it probably depends on how much extra work the 3rd Party Developers need to implement to the new Version. I do suspect that the File system will mainly be the same, so I would think everything would be free of charge, but we'll see soon enough.
Uh 170GB is a little less nowadays. And best is to have it on an SSD.
I think I'm missing the joke here?
