I'm getting exactly the same. I've just bought it and installed the 1GB file on Steam. The game just asks for safe mode or normal mode, but then crashes either way.

Same with me. It downloads just less than 2 GB of files and thats all. It crushes when selecing safe or normal mode. What`s going on? I`m very dissapointed with how its complicated with this game

I had the Safe or Normal Mode option as well few days ago when I installed it from Steam, yet I didn't get any crashes.

Maybe try and Verify your Game Cache, could be a corrupt file that Steam initially installed.

Wow and none of you with issues care to post your potato setups, it might be helpful to do so as it's probably not got the right sprout on it to run the game.

what are you guys (with install issues) running this simulator on? whats the PC specs you have? cant really help you if you dont show that.

mine's a i5 12400f, 32gb ram, rtx4060, but i gave up, just refunded, too complicated that download, decompress thing was really slow, download speed was reaching really slow times and i decided to verify archives and then the app just was telling me i was missing files and couldn't download anymore. Well, raised a white flag, i can't keep finding out, and reading foruns, officials saying to do this and that, a lot of steps just to find another weird problem. I guess this game was not for me.

After purchasing you will have to do a bunch of updates and that is when the real installation happens. I think with all the free DLC etc I ended up with 170GB of data to download. That may include an airport or two added as well. I got the basic copy not the deluxe. Just plan on leaving in downloading over night. I did have to restart dl process for updates one time. It's going to take a while. But it seems to be worth it for me so far.
