How well does this game run of a GTX 1070?
I've been curious to know from you lot who own the game. How well does it run? i've sen how beautiful the game looks and how relaxing it can be, flying in the sky. But my guess is that it runs ♥♥♥♥ on a 1070, correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm interested in knowing, and why am i asking? i'm interested in buying this game in the future

Depends on CPU...

I'm getting a 30 steady... got it capped at 30.. without between 32-45.

on my older cpu 4790K i had somewhere between 30-40 with less traffic.

On 1440P

At 1080p my 1070 paired with an i7-8700 will run the game on a mix of High and Ultra at 45 to 50 FPS quite easily in SoCal.
1080P High settings i7-8750H 32GB RAM. Getting around 30-40 FPS. Closer to the ground and during ground ops it falls below 20 FPS. Even at 20 FPS, it does not look jerky. Better performance once you're off the ground and above 5,000 ft.

i get stutters in certain areas, settings dont seem to matter so i keep most on high, i might get a few frames higher with lower settings but it doesnt pevent the sudden drops. 32gb ram. im on an i5 6600k so maybe thats the issue. usually i sit between 30-45 fps (where it atleast feel smooth) with random drops to single digits that cause the stutters.
but its still playable, ive logged quite a few hours. itd be nice if it was a 100% smooth experience, but for now i can deal with it until i upgade.

I have a gig of internet speed, a 1060 and 4790k, the game recommended I run at high end settings, I do and get 35-50FPS depending on the levels of clouds I run, huge airports, etc...

Luckily I like GA planes and small to medium airports the best.

4770k runs with a 1070 OK, but it ran much better when i put in a better processor. with the 4770 it can be OK on 1080p, you'll have some scenarios the FPS dips as it load stuff. But if you tweak the settings its a good experience.

i'm on a 1070 with 7700k@5ghz overclocked

with mostly high to ultra settings (a few at medium as they don't offer any boost in visual quality) I get 40-60fps at 1080p resolution in most places...NYC gets down to near 30...so, I locked FPS at 30 in nVidia Control Panel to avoid stutters from drops in FPS from 60 to 40 back to 60 rapidly when loading as you fly. Now I have a smooth gameplay at 30 consistent FPS.

i7 3770k here, 32gb ram, 1070... i run it at 1440, MED to HIGH END. it takes a minute or two to finally get everything loaded, then it smooths out and play fine to me. if it starts stuttering, I can wait a bit for it to catch up, OR drop it down to MED and it is just fine, and still looks fantastic

will run perfectly fine providing your CPU is on par or above the GPU

You are correct, but think about this. This sim changes what that means. To some people your comment means their i5 from 5 or 6 generations ago is fine!

Historically people could stuff overpowered GPU into their computer because games didn't really use the CPU much. So you could get away with a beefy 2070 in some 6 year old old i5 and actually improve game performance in other products! (i've seen a lot of people here with that ran into this, though personally I have never mismatched my hardware so severely)

So a lot of people have finally hit a point where that won't work for them, but they still say "but my i5 4XXX never had issues on any other game!"

For me it was my 4770K and a 1070. Literally no issues in other apps, but finally MSFS made my poor i7 cry. Normally my older i7 was enough to keep my GPU at 100% if needed. No longer. RIP.

You can always help limiting the framerate.

I run a 970 and it's fine, providing I stick to generally low-medium settings (it still looks amazing). The only struggle is with a jetliner around big cities, but that's fine (I can amend).

1070 you will be good.

The one rule - is don't obsess with getting 60FPS+ like in shooters, 30FPS+ is OK in a flight sim.

As others have perhaps mentioned, if not I don't see why, but it really depends also on if you plan on using VR or display more than 1080p.

Frienf of my has same I7 3770K not overclocked with an GTX1080, and can run the sim smooth at 1080p.

EVGA 1070 paired with a i7 4790k high settings I get 30-40 FPS the vast majority of the time..a few the hand built airports can cut that in half but this is at 1440p. I gain about 5fps if I turn the scaling down from 100-90 and I hardly notice the difference between 90 and 100
