No 3D buildings are being generated
I am starting a new thread because I havent seen this issue described literally anywhere in the internet so it seems I am the only person with this problem.

When I play, I cannot see any 3D building being generated - just a flat map texture. Trees and traffic vehicles are fine, but basically any generated building isnt there at all. I am flying in places I saw in other videos that have 3d buildings but I cannot see anything.

I have all online features turned ON, I tried to play on all graphic settings from Low-end to Ultra but the result is still the same.

I even downloaded the manual cache area but still - no result.

What am I doing wrong?

have you tried it without online streaming data?

Also how much ram do you have?
Crunchmeister Aug 25, 2020 @ 8:20am
Please share your system specs (including the RAM on. your GPU) and Internet connection speed. That could shed some light on what the issue is.

Try to remove your full installation and completely re-install it. Good luck! :-)

I have the same problem, no 3d Buildings although i have a 250mbit Internet connection and 16gigs of ram.
How big should the rolling cache be for example for Tokyo?

If you have no 3D buildings trying playing it with offline scenery. Offline scenery has 3D buildings, if those don't work then we know it is not the internet. If that does work, we know it is an internet issue.

your cache size doesn't really matter.

My System Specs are:

CPU: Intel I5 6500
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070
Memory: 16GB
Internet speed - 92Mbps

I already tried to turn off Online connectivity in the game - still nothing changed :(

I am really desperate. I bought Premium edition and now I have this problem which doesnt seem to be solving anytime soon...

So seems like your specs are fine. It certainly seems odd. If the game loads at all I wouldn't think your software/drivers were the issue. But have you tried updating your graphics driver?

I don't think that is it, but not sure what else to say.

I tried offline mode and it looks even worse, still no 3d buildings. Graphics drivers are new (nvidia). I try to reinstall the drivers again maybe they are faulty (they give me an error when i try to open them, so maybe thats the issue)

Well that sucks. But at least we know it's not related to the internet.

Someone else had issues but it was only in the online mode.

I'll go check the offical forums for clues.

i only found one post on the official forums that seemed to match but it had no responses.

I guess you guys should try to zen desk MS. When I had an issue it took a few days to get a response but they did give me a few links to follow and one of them helped my downlaoding/installation issues.

Hopefully someone has an idea in the meantime.

OK so I tried to update a GPU Driver. I saw there was a recent update I didnt have installed yet with explicit saying it is meant to support Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. I saw a sparkle of hope! I installed the driver, restarted the PC, started the game and... Still nothing changed :(-

I decided I will try to reinstall the game (which will take 5-6 hours again (meh) but I will give it a try.

If this will not help, then I will probably contact Microsoft themselves...

OK just for an update - complete reinstall of the game doesnt fix the problem.

I am starting to feel regretful buying this game. Too bad I cannot refund it...
