Washington D.C. seriously?

I'm sure the Washington D.C. area will be a "premium" priced add-on in the future.. yes, the landmarks are there horribly designed and you can fly over them (which looks better than drone walking next to them) and land at Reagan Airport.. I suggest you don't let the A.I. Co-pilot bring you in though.. mine landed about a mile out and swims over the water till it made it to the runway.. now that's perseverance for ya! This was my first experience with the 787.. didn't know the swimming feature was an option.. impressive!! You can use the drone and walk around D.C... but it all looks terrible.. oh the inhumanity of it all.. open that wallet and wait for the release of the United States Capital.. Can we get the Premium pack before the election?

It is disappointing, and yeah, I assume a premium add on will be released later. It’s too bad, but I’m not too surprised either. It’s how sim games go.

Yup..it took them 14 years to make a new release.. they want to make some money off it... I guess I am rushing things..:-)

I will see what microsoft does with free updates before considering buying premium priced 3rd party add-ons. I know that is considered normal for flight sims but it doesn't sit well with me. I would rather Microsoft update for free or even release the paid content themselves.

Its not realistic for MS to model the whole world, especially in the base sim. Even though MS plans for some free world updates, people shouldn't expect too much. Considering they fact their partner said 99.9% of the world is autogen, we should expect it to remain virtually that number for years to come.

The free updates will come, but expect them to be small. Personally I'm fine with that. There is plenty of world to visit and I don't have any interest in buying scenery.

Unless someone hacks in fictional content like Isla Nublar with dinosaurs running around. I'd pay good for that. ^_^

My statement didn't attempt to negate that. I didn't touch on it at all.

It is great that people do buy scenery, otherwise it wouldn't be possible to produce it. Buy as much scenery as you like.

My point is I'm not crying over anything. I understand the business, real-world limitations and what can be enjoyed with the sim.

Everyone has their own places they wish got special treatment. DC is a good example. But it doesn't bother me. I know it may bother others.

I just wish the trees in my city weren't 300 feet tall and hiding all the buildings. Hard to VFR when they make it look like a forest. But It's ok, I spend time in other places.

Yeah free is just me being optimistic lol. I am relatively new to sims though so the whole world of paid scenery packs is new to me. In most of the stuff I play that kind of stuff is passion projects released for free / paid by donations that are made by individuals or small groups, but here we have an actual cottage industry around it.

Definitely. What MS gave us here is the entire world. That’s enough for me, to be frank. Other people can come in and add to it. I wouldn’t expect MS to do it, and where would they start even? They would always be leaving someone or something out. So it’s something best left for other people to do. Obviously that will cost more, but that’s the nature of these sims. And like you said, I could then pick and choose if I desired what to add.

Well, OK, runways actually have pretty good textures, I guess they expected some people to smash their faces into those.

Well..if they have a Pause in mid-air.. and they have the drone feature.. umm yeah, I think they expect people to investigate.. and I didn't smash my face!! ok ok..I did walk into that one building.. but it didn't hurt.. :) it is after all a "GAME" to be enjoyed..
