Best controller for this game?
My PS4 controller doesn't work on this,
I can't find the official xbox 360 controller for PC anymore, so what is the best controller to buy to play this game?

A cheap aftermarket Xbox controller is the best bet right now, actual proper joysticks are selling for 3 and 4 times normal prices, so just getting by with Xbox is the smart play right now.

I went with a thrustmaster t flight hotas 4 joystick for ps4 & pc, and it's fun :)

It depends on what your budget is. Bare minimum, imo is something like my Thrustmaster Hotas X. Spend a little more and get CH Products Combat Stick, Throttle and rudder Pedals. And you could throw in their yoke also if you wanted more realism.

Ive got a T Flight Hotas X and i didn't even like using it for this. x360 or xone pad for me, whatever is nearest lol

People are actually selling xbox-360 consoles with multiple controllers cheaper than you have to pay for one single new controller. Check ebay.

Go with Xbox One (or newer) controller that's natively supported by Windows 10.
Otherwise, if budget is a constraint. Logitech Extreme 3D pro is a good entry level joystick.
Or if you have room in your budget, go with a HOTAS set.

You can however use the PS4 controller with FS2020 if you download a program called DS4. Then make sure you connect your controller through that.

IMO, since you will not be engaging in things like aerial combat, a simple controller is your best bet. No need for a $600 flight stick that has 25 functions you do not need. Now, if you want immersion, that can be a whole different story, what with pedals, MFDs, head tracking, etc.

That's true, but Logitech Extreme 3D pro costs as cheap as an Xbox controller.. And that's a better way of flying than a gamepad.

I've tried this but the tutorial doesn't seem to work properly - its telling me to press keyboard keybindings even though I've got the controller plugged in, any idea?

Today's prices are $170 from Newegg, $65 from Dell (for delivery this week, $40 for delivery the first week of October)

I'm enjoying this game with an Xbox One controller. You can order the controller and the dongle separate if you can't find them together.

Well, it’s telling you the key binding to press, and it’s up to you to know what button that is on your controller (if it has one). For instance, on my joystick, I have several buttons programmed for various things, but the game still refers me to the keyboard inputs. It’s up to me to know what those are on my joystick.
