Even in planes with fuel gauges we still do this IRL.
This is exactly what I assumed they wanted... that's more realism than I'm going for. I want to feel like I'm flying this plane but I don't want to go to flight school to do it.

But I am aware of the fuel per hour meter on the dash and keeping my throttle at 48% keeps my airspeed at a nice 80 and my fuel per hour at 6 gallons... so I can assume around 3 hours per tank... keep my flight plans below 5 hours and switch tank 2 and half hours out... if I'ma wing it...
Again, thanks for the help. At least I know there isn't a meter in this model.
Thank you very much - I'd actually looked at those before and still not realised that they were fuel gauges.
