How bad is the micro transactions in this game? (If there is any)
I am considering buying this game, but i have never played any Microsoft flight simulator game before, so i was wondering, how bad is the micro transactions? Do you need to pay real world money to get new planes or do you simply get them through progression or other methods that doesn't require real world money?

There are many planes in the standard edition I guess you can find the list on the store page or watching the videos .

If you just wanna fly casually and not interested in a specific plane or airport with the maximum details the game does not already have then you won't have to buy anything to enjoy this game.

There is no ingame currency , consumables, costumes, etc. so I would not call the store content real micro transactions either. These are and will be just DLC addons like specific planes, airports, sceneries, developed mostly by 3rd party developers.

Its really bad. Someone like you shouldn't buy it.

Not sure what you mean by 'bad'.

If you want a new plane or airport or scenery area it is paid DLC. But you start off with many planes and airports and great scenery as part of the base game, and you don't need any of the DLC to enjoy the game. On the other hand if you have a favourite place and you want it just that little bit better, then the DLC is there.

So I would ask 'how GOOD are the micro transactions in this sim'
i dont know what you consider "bad micro transactions"? i'm not interested in microtransactions at all. i havent even clicked on the shop page in game (if there is even one). i just hop into a plane and travel the world.
i dont think you can unlock planes though , if you really would want more i think u have to purchase them. but im most interested in the scenery, less in the planes, so i have no interest in buying anything else.

I agree with Majickthyse. You can travel the whole world, over 37,000 airports with xx planes (depends on your edition). If you want airports which are more detailled, or more planes, you can buy this payware.
microtransactions i WOULD be interested in though would be improved points of interest. stuff like victoria falls, machu pichu, karnak temple stuff like that.

The wanting more detail and planes is micro-transactions or at least what I think the OP was getting at. So honestly all of these flight / train sim games are the worst when it comes to extra content costs.
Is it worth it? depends on your opinion.

What i specifically meant with "bad" was if its Train simulator bad where almost everything is walled off a paywall, or if you can actually get planes etc, through other methods that isn't buying with real world currency, but seeing all the comments i'm guessing its the latter.. Might still buy it do as i'm more interested in the scenery :)

There arent any, they are having you on. You get access to everything at the start of the game. Only if you want more planes or better scenery do you pay for them but you dont have to. This game comes with loads of planes and superb scenery so its the first MS flight sim game where you dont have to buy anything extra to have a wonderful experience.

This is not true. If you want to see the buildings of London, it's an extra. How is that different than a fancy set of armor in another game?

What buildings you on about exactly?

I am not "on" about anything. I am giving an example of a micro-transaction. There is an extra by orbix that adds the interesting buildings of London. That is an extra for a cosmetic item.

Its not microtransaction its an addon DLC for those who wanna get a specific thing look more authentical. The buildings and the cities are still there but might not look like perfect replica of the real area. Its not like london is a flat texture only so you have to buy the london scenery pack to get building meshes in london in your game.

Btw in this case that scenery pack made many parts of london look worse beside adding specific buildings I have no idea how that happened but I guess you can find the complaints at YT about it.

Are you serious expecting 100% authentical accuracy for the entire world with every building hand crafted? I wouldn't call these microtransactions because adding these things to the base game for the entire world would be impossible. So its nothing like ingame armors, weapons ,consumables, pets, horses, so on because those things could be achieved and added to the base game easily.

These are specific things for a specific small percantage of the players who feel its worth it for them .

Call them what ever you like. I am not making a judgment about whether they are bad or good. I did not state anything about my expectations. There are a lot of extra charges that people need to pay to get something into the game that was not included with the original price. I was just giving a clear example. Defend it or don't, buy it or don't, but don't think you are getting the full game if there is extra stuff behind paywalls.
