how do i set ils approach on 747? im new to this plane.....

Short answer : You can set the ILS frequency on the FMS, but I don't remember the button name (probably rad nav or something like that).
Just type the freq (ie 108.7) on the pad then click the button next to the ILS line on the left of the FMS screen.

The rest is done with the AP
