Help! Install stuck decompressing 100%

Hello, like the title says I’m stuck with the popular problem that others are having where my install is stuck decompressing.

I’ve tried to delete the problem file, but when I reload the installer it wants me to install a new 60gb and I eventually get stuck decompressing another file.

I don’t have any anti virus running, and have 32gb of ddr4 ram so I don’t think that’s the issue. I’ve got plenty of storage however I have installed this game 10+ times over and over so there may be some loose data files around but I think I’ve deleted them all every time I reinstall.

If anyone has any ideas pls help. I just wanna fly.

I have heard people say to delete the last several files that were downloaded.

If you are going to try reload the game, I would look for advice on making sure everything is deleted. All of the files are not deleted when you uninstall through Windows Apps or Steam. It might be that a file was corrupted and as the downloader just keeps hitting the same corrupted file.

Delete the file it is having issues with. This will force it to re-download it.

unfortunately it forces a full redownload of the whole game again :'(

Is the archive you are stuck on fs_base_cgl?

It gets stuck on any file around 4-5 when decompressing. After i delete that file (sometimes they re download), but it will just get stuck on the next file after decompressing 4-5.
so i delete that file, restart the game and rinse repeat

Having a similar problem. Downloads 50gigs of update, freezes at 99 or 100% then restarts the download. I've googled the problem and people have had this issue for 3 years. What ♥♥♥♥♥♥ update method, it's really unacceptable to have updates this large and also have it glitch over and over.

Hey Everyone,

Looks like I Figured out the problem. I was installing the Game on a different drive ina restricted folder. What I mean by restricted is: The Folder wasn't owned by me, it was created by the SYSTEM. If you get this problem the best thing to do is to create a folder in any place where you have full access. For example, the best location may be the one where it installs by default or "C:\Users\USERNAME\MSFlightSim". Note: You will have to create the folder MSFlightSim. Hope that helped!
