They haven't even said if it will be available through Steam or any other seller. I don't think they care because they want everyone playing games from their subscription service.
-Will it be DLC for regions?
-Will it still function as an open world Flight Simulator or will all these mission things be required?
-Are all the aircraft and airports purchased through Deluxe version going to be included also?
-What are the hardware requirements?
My guess is they had a breakthrough with the game engine and found a way to fully implement DX12 and now they are going to add a few things and make you buy the game all over again.
Sounds like Bait and Switch to me. As mentioned by @Loaf, your MONEY is not going to carry over.
You'd think they could take care of making this perfect with better UI and adding some Flights but from other DLC it will soon look old. The UI is the most embarrassing. It could at least just integrate directly with SIMBRIEF.
Besides, we all know those short DLC Missions are just a 1 day bit of fun. How many times do you think you are gonna put out that same Fire; rescue people on a mountain; fix a power mast etc.
Seriously it should be made just DLC.
Let's hope that those greedy business people at X-Plane are next with their hands out for our money begging us to buy their new sim packed with new innovation.
If MSFS 2024 is so much better that you never want to play MSFS 2020 again, then you likely won't care because you will be having so much fun in 2024 and the $ you are worked up about will be forgotten, just like every other game you spent money on and no longer play.
We have to wait and see what it is. If its just missions and a little bit of new paint here and there I don't see myself buying in. 'Upgraded engine' is more like 'check is in the mail' speak.
They've come out and said that the FS2020 marketplace purchases will work with 2024, yesterday, so this should no longer be a worry.
