"Thankfully we got funding to make a big arsed Sim". Yeah, so do provide a FREE UPGRADE from 2020 else you suck ASOBO. Do NOT dare to ask a full fee for 2024.

FS 2020 is in a good state, though. And there are some good aircraft for it. As for how long the servers will be up serving Bing data no one can know. I would not trust anything they say for sure so.....use your best judgement.
It is going to split the marketplace for sure where some content works in 2020 and not 2024 and vice versa. They claim it won't but sure. We know it will. It always ends up like this. Otherwise if 2020 works fine then why would anyone want to get 2024? So the studio is going to ensure that 2024 looks like the better offering.
MS said not all MSFS 2020 addons/mods will continue to work in 2024. I bought the 40th anniversary this year - more than 2 years after original release at a significantly smaller discount than FSX.
I honestly believe MS ought to give existing MSFS 2020 a reasonable discount for 2024 ...
Yea, if MS feels the same, we can almost guarantee there will not be many more MSFS 2020 updates except to fix some bugs or quick wins lol
Agree, and does MS care? There isn't much info about MSFS 2024 and I believe it will be released earliest late 2024 or in 2025 lol
Edit: Small modders will struggle to provide freeware to both MSFS 2020 & 2024. Quietly, I hope MSFS 2024 will be a flop and modders continue to support 2020.
Mate, you can't threaten people with post like this in Steam forums. Someone must have reported you for your ban.

Hence why I said "virtually all". The majority of addons will work. I've been a flight simmer for around 25 years having spent tens of thousands of dollars in this hobby and have been through this process a number of times with XP and P3D. I recently picked up two more addons for MSFS 2020 to add to the many I already have and I'm pretty sure they will be compatible in MSFS 2024 which I will buy when it comes out.
I really don't understand this fear people have. Just buy your addons and use them. Yes there is a chance they may not work with the next iteration of MSFS but there are many chances in life itself that are out of your control. Do you find yourself constantly thinking about them? I don't because it would be unhealthy mentally to do so.
Third-party developers will want their products in MSFS 2024 as it will be the cat's pajamas making them tons of money. There are a number of respected third-party developers out there some of which have been providing content to the flight sim community for 15+ years (some much longer) and others that have made a name for themselves starting with MSFS 2020. Just don't buy shovelware addons. It's very, very likely that nearly all if not all addons from respected third-party developers from them will work with MSFS 2024. At most a patch may be necessary and / or an upgrade fee might be applied for them to work with MSFS 2024.
I bet majority if not all payware will work fine in 2024 but not all freeware.
MSFS 2020 is not cheap and incomplete in the sense that there's almost an expectation you buy payware aircrafts, airports and AI traffic addons to complete the game.
If you watched Easyjetsimpilot's video, you will hear Asobo & MS say 9 of 12 milliion who bought 2020 are (casual) gamers, and they want to give hard core flight simmers a more realistic experience in 2024. Do you honestly believe 2024 will be significantly better or more complete than 2020? I don't because they failed to address the default ATC and avionics issues from FSX.
