Why no sim sale
Games a few years old and still has loads of issues. Stop treating it like a golden goose and put it on sale. One would think you would want to get all the sales you could until xp12 comes out.

I always love those begging threads. "Come on stop being so stingy, give it to me cheap or even better, for free! It's not that great a game anyway and has released oh-so-longago!"
Btw, this game already has been on sale before. It just currently isn't. And it is barely 1.5 years old, not "a few years".

Easy , take off your cape. I have xp11, like 10 aircraft in DCS, I'm not "struggling" as you suggest. I fly mainly in vr, that said this game lacks. I look at what I'm willing to pay for what the game offers and for me personally about $30 is it. After all the sale is a sim sale and this is labeled a sim, games not new anymore. That's all I was saying. You going to tell me how great microsoft is next?

Thing is there is still a ton to come for MSFS. The Standard Edition of MSFS is $60, many AAA games around that price are supported a few years and then dropped and then people buy the next one for $60 again. My $60 towards MSFS is going to last me a long, long time.

that's fair. You do have a point. If they do all the stuff they say and make it work as should then yes. right now as it stands for me no. I'm also looking at it like this: I buy the game, that's just the beginning. If I want the premium aircraft with the fully clickable cockpits (which I do and is the reason I play) the price goes up and up. I'm going to end up in a couple hundred if I commit I was just surprised to not see this on sale. The comment was a jab to the corporate side not the fan base.

Those aren't any better when it comes to fidelity. I just got myself the Standard Edition and called it a day. Like the other sims if you want the really, really good stuff you have to turn to third-party.

I never suggested anything. But if you're gonna whine about 70$ for a game that has been promised a decade of support, then that is your problem, not mine.
If it's only worth 30$ to you then just don't buy it for more than that. Simple as that. Maybe it will at some point be offered for 60% off, maybe it won't. Not exactly a revolutionary concept to just not buy something that one deems to expensive. But in the same vein as you being free to decide how much you are willing to offer for something Microsoft (or any other studio) is free to decide how much they ask and whether or not they'd like to offer sales. And if you never match, then that is just that.

And I just said the game currently not on sale. There are sales of ingame items going on at all times, but not on the game itself. The last time it was on sale was last autumn. As my crystal ball is currently under repair I sadly cannot check for you when if and when it will be again.

I'm not even defending Microsoft here. I'd say the same for any game of any company: buy it if you feel it's worth it, don't if you feel it isn't. Running around whining about why it isn't cheaper and tossing around false info like if having been out for a few years or pretending like it is never on sale for a discount... that's just pathetic.

There tons of sim games not in the sale.
Twelvefield Apr 2, 2022 @ 11:50am
The price of the game is nothing compared to what I shelled out in hardware. What I coughed up in hardware is peanuts compared to what Maki paid.

Yeah, you can go wild with flight sim hardware. My dedicated sim rig has flight sim hardware that alone cost me over $2,000.

no need for a sale right now, i bet there will be one at xmass or so.
MKEZ22 Apr 2, 2022 @ 3:40pm
a one time cost is not much to ask for a game that uses this much bandwidth and has such a huge amount of developing/updates - i gladly pay full price for this sim and i am living on social security retirement and dont have much money - and i gladly pay for quality addons in the marketplace to help keep this sim alive

1 year and 4 months to be more precise. I'll bet you $2.00 dollars that MSFS 2020 has already sold more units in that time span, than X-plane 12 will sell in it's entire existence.

The game came out August 2020, so not a few years. The game goes on sale quite a bit, just wait for the next one. I saw a comment about the premium version, all aircraft have fully clickable buttons no matter what edition you have. The premium just comes with more dlc planes.
