Oculus Dash Fatal Error in VR
MSFS 2020 had been playing fine in VR mode until a week or two ago using my Oculus Quest 2. Now as soon as start up MSFS2020 or any other Steam VR game, I get a DASH Fatal Error. Oculus games play fine. Error goes away when close the game. Steam VR games on an older PC I have still play fine. So implication is "something" changed on the PC. This is a close to new PC with a Rizen7, 32 GB of RAM, a 3070 card and 1TB SSD. Oculus Support was of no help stating does not guarantee non Oculus games. Any ideas ??

Currently out of Beta, will try in; though also out of Beta on older PC and Steam VR works fine. But running out of ideas. Assuming it is something in the new PC that changed to now cause the DASH fatal errors while older PC has no problem.

Found solution to the problem. My 2D set up is three 34" monitors. Playing the game in Window vs Full screen mode, using the mouse, reduce size of game window width to one monitor. As soon as do that , the DASH Fatal error goes away. Seems underlying game must only be one "Window" monitor wide for Oculus VR to work; at least in my case when using three 34"monitors.
I had said in original post that VR had worked fine until recently. I may have been reducing game to one monitor width thinking that might help performance. In retrospect, problem started when left game either in Full screen and full Window mode.

Very good sleuthing!

Resource depletion and performance can be problematic when you effectively have FIVE monitors being driven from your video card.

Even reducing the size of the one on-screen window while using VR can improve overall performance.... as does doing anything that reduces video resource utilization in Windows... e.g. turning off window shadows, etc.

I'm going to post this on every single post I find if the fatal error happens when you try to start a Party or try to call someone using Social you need to on computer go to settings and go to the Accounts Center and Set up your Horizon and Facebook accounts to be together and one in the same this is not a Default work despite signing up with a Facebook acount
