4 Hours and CTD when I try to fly

Just repurchased this thinking bugs would have been squashed from first release and I can't fly, the game ctd every time. How was this released like this and not tested?

Out of curiosity, what and where are you flying?

You might want to try again after disabling AI traffic as this is one known cause for CTD.

Tried it, I literally bought it last night, downloaded it and when I went to launch a flight It CTD, I disabled real world weather and traffic but no!! WTF

Yea agreed, they went from being an amazing software company that communicates well and ships high quality products to not-communicating in this crisis and shipping tat product. I had zero issues since launch and now can't get a single flight without a crash despite a full fresh install.

Once I click fly it CTD. RTX 3070, SSD, 48 Gigs ram.

Its the global map i think. It crashes for me when setting up a flight. Turning off AI flights fixes it hanging and not loading to the airport I think. I was fine for days after the patch until last night.

Same problem. I've done all the "fixes" including reinstalling twice. No idea what to do other than wait for Asobo to fix it with a patch. Extremely frustrating.

Had no CTD's before Update V, had nothing but CTD's after Update V, have had no CTD's whatsoever after the hotfix.

Had 2 CTDs right after update. But after downloading all updates in content manager no more CTDs. Just flew for hours with no CTDs.

Had CTDs after update. Deleted Community folder. No CTDs all day today.

Clear Cache in game, worked for me.

Yes and get everything out of your community folder and start again after Cache cleared

Thanks for the advice but the sim crashes when i click 'fly' every time :(

What is strange in my case is I had CTD's after the update installed. I renamed the community folder and recreated the cache and then had CTD's during a flight. I was using Live Weather at the time as update 5 broke my REX Weather Force. After I chaanged from Live Weather to fixed the CTD's stopped. I then restored my community folder and mods and everything is working. Sorry to hear that you can't even do a flight with the basic install.

I bought MS Flight Sim 6 months ago and sadly the installer hung and never finished after multiple attempts so I requested a refund and chalked it down to “early days”.

6 months later I buy it again and the download goes perfectly. I get into the options menu and start configuring my warthog and throttle, graphics options etc.. I click fly and the game crashed to desktop. So I tried all the advice online about deleting community content, disabling live traffic, clearing rolling cache etc. But no it’s crashed when I click fly.

So far my Steam time is 11 hours and I haven’t seen a cockpit or taken off from a runway.

Honestly this experience has been my most disappointing gaming experience in my lifetime, I’m 40 years old and have never wasted so much time due to a dodgy patch, it’s a farce and a rip off launching patches like this.

My rig plays DCS perfectly, RTX 3070 with 48 gigs of ram and SSD drives and ultra wide setup, all titles run perfect.

Fix the game instead of taking my hard earned cash and eating eleven hours on my time.

I didn't have CTDs until this last patch. I updated my drivers and I haven't CTD since. I know a lot of people do this first thing, but it helped me if you haven't checked that already.
