So yeah now I'm looking for another download capper online. I've already spent all day trying to get this installed. Closing in on 100 hours "playtime", I have about 10 flight hours.
I'm getting mildly annoyed so I take to the forums to vent my frustrations...
My desktop is ethernet, my lappy is wifi and they both download this program without a problem....
I also have a 50 mbps Fiber download speed. Game downloaded fine without any problems at around 45-50 mbps all the way thru the download. I'm in Australia by the way.
Yeah same issue every time I install. I can't explain it, but for me, setting MFS2020 at a 5MB/s download speed cap using NetLimiter or sth similar stopped it from looping for me every time it happened. Shoul give that a try.
Funnily enough that means a network limiting feature is the only way to get it started.
To be clear, we don't actually get into the game to adjust network features, all that's beyond the initial download. All we get is an "update available screen" and a prompt to choose an install location, after which it goes into the download and starts to loop.
I don't like the process of download, decompress, install and would think that download all, decompress all and install all would be smoother but then I'm not on the Asobo dev team and there is likely a reason they cannot do it that way.
Steam downloads work the way I would expect. It downloads all of it to your PC, then decompresses and installs. I'm not sure why FS 2020 does not do this.
See this document on some ideas: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dVwyIua2-RTOPIN66u43_YqL_JVZr6F1KJEQPKfgQ5c/edit#heading=h.l84hgk90nlps
Doing that is annoying though, especially because after the free trial, NetLimiter becomes paid.
I'm sorry I don't know what it's called, just remembered reading about it in several threads.
Could this be causing a problem??
