Is this game available on any cloud streaming services?
Hi all. Sorry if this is kind of a dumb question

I don't know anything about cloud gaming. My brother is training to be pilot and his instructor recommended he get a flight sim but he just has a work laptop. Is there a cloud gaming service that has this game? Or maybe one that's just as good?

This is actually a really good question, because the pace and gamedesign is perfect for a Cloud-Gaming service. You do not need superhigh fps and can deal with a bit of input latency.

Sadly i do not know any services that run FS2020.
Stadia for example does not have it in the list.

Much success to your brothers qualification.

I second XP with addons. I suggest they look into the Airfoillabs or SimCoders 172. We'll see what happens later down the road with MSFS regarding optimization and addons. No doubt that A2A will bring some really nice light general aviation aircraft to MSFS but that's going to happen later on.

This cloud service will run X-Plane but not MSFS. https://shadow.tech/

Turns out he'd heard of X-plane from his instructors! I think that was actually the one they were talking about in the first place. He just mentioned a "flight sim" and I assumed it was this one. Thank you everyone!

Baloney, I'm multi-cert real world pilot, and I use MSFS2020 to brush up on loads of VFR and IFR procedures. Particularly where I need some decent ground visuals or some weather that has realistic layers/visibility ranges it's perfectly fine.
Is X-plane/P3D better for heavy duty IFR? Yup, but the OP said his brother was just starting out, so I'd recommend 2020 and use the base VFR aircraft just fine. And you don't have to mess with add on scenery, weather, or other updates to keep it looking and working good.
Add in X-plane if/when 2020 doesn't step up to the fancy IFR plate, although third parties will begin bringing that next year.
