Game doesn't run in full screen

Okay, I am fairly competent when it comes to computers. I click on the maximize button to run the game in full screen mode. Instead it says that it is running in full screen mode, but I can still see my taskbar (which just so happens to cut the bottom part of my screen off obscuring several controls. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this???

The maximize button doesn't switch to full screen mode, it just maximizes the window. But the taskbar will still show. To get to full screen mode you have to either go into options, general, double click on display mode and select full screen or you can press Alt-Enter to switch to full screen mode.

Thank you so much for this. That has been bugging me to death!!! Now I can enjoy the game!!!
