are the other editions worth it?
Is premium edition really worth the extra $$$$$$?

It depends how much of the content you really want - for me just the 787 (once it's fixed) and the Heathrow hand crafted airport does not make it worth £70.

I would say yes, You get more planes and they are a little more advanced vs the standard planes.
I think that the extra planes are nice.

I did it for the extra airplanes - I feel like I'm getting much more mileage out of the program.

An opinion based question no doubt. For me no, because I'll want the best and that won't come from bundled airports and aircraft with features that aren't even implemented with non-existent lighting/views and accuracy. I'll wait for superior 3rd part products, some of which are already available.

I bought it just for the 787 and I love it!

If you're after the 787 or Longitude, then in its *current* state, my opinion is no. I the version with the 787 but for me it's not playable due to the quality and quantity of bugs. Once they fix the 787 and Longitude, then definitely I can recommend. Then again, you might be perfectly fine with the bugs as they are. Elevator pitch control, autopilot, Mach/IAS setting and fuel burn bugs are obvious if you have some experience with flight sims. If you're a hardcore flight simmer, I don't think you will find the bugs acceptable. But if you're new to the genre you might not notice them (other than not being able to control the 787's pitch properly).

It really depends, I've been using study level aircraft for quite some time in other sims and it's pretty hard to go back to anything less than that. If you're a person that is a die hard fan of study level aircraft then you may want to consider just getting the standard but also remember you do get the additional airports with editions higher, check to see if any of them interest you. To me personally I just don't see the other editions worth it because I'm not going to be using those aircraft in the long run nor do the airports interest me.

The moment the A2A Aerostar comes out is the moment I'm done with stock aircraft, I will fly it till the next study level aircraft comes out. The money I don't spend on the Premium Deluxe and put aside for the Aerostar is definitely worth it to me. I'll take one study level aircraft over a bunch of ones that aren't and handcrafted airports any day of the week. I don't think I will ever visit those airports.

We've already seen that the handcrafted airports aren't as detailed as some third-party airports (take a look at Flightbeam Denver, it's more detailed than the handcrafted Denver in the Premium Deluxe). For $15 it definitely looks worth it.

Our friend Maki Nishikino makes an excellent point, which is normal for them. The chances of Real World You being in the cockpit of any of the planes in MSFS, with the exception of the Cessna 152 or 172 and maybe a Cub is small, unless you are a One Percenter, John Travolta, or an aviation freak. So buying those planes means you are investing in wish fulfillment. That's why I bought the full package.

However, if you are intent on being a true student of aviation, then the extra packages aren't worth it. You will want to hold out for the study level aircraft: A2A in particular, and PMDG if you don't mind buying all new hardware when it comes out.

I won't be buying any hardware, they are too expensive, I only got xbox 360 controller. I still wonder and think about editions. Standard game costs 250tl here, imagine paying 250$, and premium deluxe costs 730tl and it is equal to paying 730$ for me.

Love the Shock Ultra, plus other extra planes. Looking forward to more in the future...

Flight sim can be very expensive. STEAM has sales, though. This time next year there ought to be some discounts, and as time goes on the base game will be cheaper. I believe I bought FSX-SE on STEAM for ten bucks.

Considering that a single aircraft might cost $80 from third party developers, I think that the cost of the upgraded editions of MSFS is pretty nominal, if you like the aircraft and or the airports pay the few bucks extra and carry on. If you don't want them, probably not...
