Mid hour and 10 minute bush flight...with 50% in the tank, the plane runs out of fuel...
Like...how? What am I doing wrong or is this game bugged that bad?

What aircraft? What is your altitude? Are you bringing the throttle back for cruise? Are you leaning the mixture?

I'm in the Xcub doing the Patagonia trip, flying at around 10k feet.

I have not been bringing my throttle back for cruise and my mixture is at about 24%.

I am a novice with little knowledge about the mixture/fuel tank stuff.

I got it...Xcub has the fuel select to the lower left, near the floor.

Live and learn. Thank you.

The X Cub has to be switched between fuel tanks. If you look at your fuel in top toolbar you can see how much is in each tank. To your left on the door is a switch for changing tanks.

I think it starts out using the left tank and if fly a long time you might notice your plane trying to lean right a lot because of the weight balance. That's likely your problem.

EDIT: You beat me to it.

It looks like he already had his mixture leaned and being a novice I'm guessing he probably has it set to auto-lean. I usually lean by sound and watching my exhaust gas meter and if the OP sticks with it I expect he will eventually learn all the tricks.

Yes, they did but who knows if it was set too rich or lean. If you want to keep it simple you're right about sound. Simple set cruise power then lean the engine till it runs rough and then enrichen it till it stops running rough. You can get fancy with EGT and CHT gauges if you want though.
