How to completely uninstall MFS2020?
Hello,
So I have just uninstalled MFS2020 through Steam but it didn't make any difference on my ssd. Disappeared from the apps list in windows. Do you guys know how to completely uninstall?

Windows Settings -> Apps Then find Microsoft Flight Simulator, click on it and Uninstall. You'll also see Microsoft Flight Simulator Sim connect Client. Uninstall that too.

Then I'd check:

%Appdata%/roaming/ for a Microsoft Flight Simulator folder and see if that's still there and rename or delete that if you're looking for a fresh start.

check %appdata%/local/FlightSimulator check if you have rename or delete.

Yea that's where it creates the roaming and manual cache which together take up 90% of the space in that folder, next would be scenery indexes and then user data and config files.

It's also the default install location for all the content outside of the Steam download, that's what the 110GB is.

Yup having to do this as expected every 3 months. It should be called Microsoft F***ed Simulator.

Any advise on grabbing settings such as control files and graphics options files to paste back in after 2 days of downloading again ?

Microsoft dont want to know, or should I say their outsourced 'support' dont care. Reinstall the simulator, if that dont work reinstall the OS and then the sim.

Great 'crap support'

Most user data should survive because it is stored inside the Steam directory and backed up to the cloud (if enabled).

X:\Path\To\Steam\userdata\*anumberforyourprofile*\1250410\remote

The other main file (UserCFG.opt) that stores things like your graphics settings and installed content directory is inside the appdata/roaming folder.

This is likely a Steam issue. I've found Steam does a very poor job of uninstalling games and leaving behind a lot of stuff. For sure it leaves behind user profiles, settings, configurations and save games and this is not all bad b/c you can go back to them once you reinstall. But it is bad that it leaves behind installations within your Steam games folder.

go to

C:\Users\your profile\AppData\Roaming\MicrosoftFlightSimulator

this is the folder 100+gb

User appdata is the default location but people may change it. If you really want to check where the game is using you can read the path in the UserCFG.opt file, which happens to be located in the user appdata folder.
