I bought the standard version. Its is NOT 150GB as promted in the PC specs but it is about 450GB, so you just know that a 500GB SSD does NOT suffice.
Next to that the first download was 128GB and after three hours of downloading i had 2GB and after that i needed to download another 400GB, which would have took me about a month. Luckily Steam has the refund option which i used. MS should have been penalized releasing such software.

The complete Game is actually around 105GB once installed and decompressed. You do not have to installed all the Content Updates and there's over 10GB of frankly useless Liveries. At download speeds Throttle to 5-30mbps expect to be playing it after 6hours. So is ideal to leave it downloading overnight whilst you Sleep, go to Work or go out and enjoy Outdoors.

Don't know what you've done, but less than 150 GB is correct, you could increase that with third party add ons, of course.

I started the installation and the first steam installation screen for the destination told me that there was not enough room on my 500GB SSD which had 420 GB free space. It clear;y showed that the installation would take about 420GB. I dont make this up.

I don't know what to say but the others are right. It "only" takes about 120 to 150Gb. It depends on which version you bought, but it won't be anywhere near 450Gb..

I have the premium version of the game and the total size on disk is 170 GB (172,386,795,520 bytes)

It's possible that the installation process requires 450GB, but once the install is done the final footprint is 105 GB

I would say the problem could be between the Chair and the Keyboard....

At no point has this ever taken 450GB. Before, during, or after install. Premium version with all the updates from the content manager applied. No other mods / addons other than the G1000 NXi beta. Size on disk for me is 161 GB (173,316,358,144 bytes) (steam version). The MS Store version wasn't much different. Initially I had this on my OS drive which is a 500GB SSD with windows and a few other programs (mainly some games with longer load times). Had no issues with space.
