Is it worth buying the Premium Deluxe version?
I’m just an average gamer who isn’t a pilot, nor much of a simmer.

The 787 Dreamliner does look really cool though, so would it be worth spending that extra money?

In your case yes it would be. If one is into study level aircraft I would say no and wait for third-party addons to come out.

No, the game is barely functional after the last update. I would get this on the microsoft store for a dollar instead of giving these people your money. The last update made it so I cant even play the game anymore. Massive performance reduction!

It's hit-and-miss, wouldn't claim that it's "barely functional" though some things do need to be fixed up which broke. It still works overall though, was flying on VATSIM the other day post patch.

The Game Pass promotion is over and it now costs $9.99 USD per month.

Thanks! Yeah, I think I’ll shell out for the Premium Deluxe edition then.

ObsidianAnt did a poll on this, and 55% of people said performance have improved since the last update, 12% said the performance is worse (2.4k votes).

If I knew what I know now, I would of stuck with standard edition, all airliners kill frame rates even with new patch, put that into a large hand crafted airport and you got crap frames, I was in the 787 at heathrow topping 18 frames when on the ramp, 27 on taxi ways 46 over 2000ft thats on I7 9700k 4.8, rtx 2070 super, 32gb ram, personally I had better frames before patch.

That sucks :( How many frames do you get after takeoff in the 787?

I know some people checked on this but there were some that didn't. Did you clean out your community folder and test without any mods in (if you had any). Some people on the discord were reporting frame issues with the new patch (as well as on these forums) and as soon as they cleaned it out they got their stable framerates back. This is still a hit or a miss considering I never had to clean mine out but everyone downloads different mods and there might be a particular few that are causing the instability.

After the patch, this aircraft is buggy with me. Some displays turn off after a while so you cant see your data you need to know. Other gamers feel the same way, google that. Several days and no hotfix, kind of cheeky.

Not going to get a hot fix for nearly 2 more weeks either. Next patch is announced on the 24th and will likely drop nearly a week later, like with all other patches so far. I expect it'll focus on fixing the 'new' bugs with the A320 mostly.

I'd like to be proved wrong of course.

For me, it was not worth it. I find myself mostly flying the planes that came in the base game and if I have visited even 2 of the deluxe version airports I would be surprised.
Kosmozuikis Sep 19, 2020 @ 5:51pm
Yes it’s worth it if you like those planes. The game is working fine don’t listen to trolls. There are some bugs but nothing game breaking.

No. Microsoft rolled out a product that's very buggy. Get the Standard if you must; be warned that we're the testers. Many achievements are broken - nothing to indicate this, so you'll waste time then figure out or research that it's not you, it's Microsoft. Patches greater than several gig are normal to fix the sloppy development. Not all planes have complete checklists, with crashes, performance realism broken, FLC and NAV hit and miss, ATC - don't request a increase or decrease in altitude. On and on.. Best bet wait 3 to 6 months. Who knows?
