Latest update (Patch notes 1.8.3.0)

The latest update is there now with patch for in-sime issues:

MSFS2020: 15.69 GB

So steam downloaded a 300mb file for the update, but nothing gets downloaded when I open the game. Game says its running 1.8.3.0, but all my DLC are missing and marketplace is greyed out.

Guess I have to re-download the whole damn thing. AGAIN.

did not help, actual it restored the file I deleted with the old settings, no clue where it got an extra copy of the file from..

For some reason, for some people, it appears to downloaded the whole game again. Very odd...

I only had to download the update patch which was 15.9GB

Me too.. Update process worked fine for me... Just ~16GB

So far I've found 2 disappointments in the patch 1.8.3.0. First thing is that Live weather has not been fixed. I get Live weather on my 1st try but if I need to make a change such as change my aircraft, when it reloads, it reloads without live weather. I verified this multiple times trying to check out the weather by flying into Hurricane Sally. First time in, sitting on runway, skies were overcast and light rain was falling. I backed out to change my aircraft. When I went back in skies were clear and wind was 3 kts. Only way to get live weather to display properly was to exit Flight Simulator and restart it. The second thing I've found was that for some reason now my standby battery starts in the armed position on the 172 G1000 version. I don't know if that is the case for a real airplane but it's the first time I've experienced it since the patch downloaded. I was about 10 minutes into my flight when my fight side MFD turned off. At the same time my autopilot shut down and would not let me turn it back on. At the time I didn't know it was because my standby battery was armed. I turned it off and haven't had anymore issues with my autopilot or MFD. I wonder if something similar is what is happening to the airliners that shut down before taking off. I also wish Microsoft would let me set how much fuel my plane starts with and keep it. Keeping my weight (maybe let me set it in my profile would be a nice touch). Every time I start out, I have to reset everything to my preference. How about doing an autosave every 10 minutes that saves your position, aircraft, heading, speed, fuel quantity and every thing else related to your current situation (at least until the thing is more stable). I can't tell you how many times I've been 2 1/2 hours into a flight and had either a CTD or PC reboot only to loose all of my progress and have to start over. Finally, let me delete needless entries in my log book. I have way too many flights with 0 takeoffs and 0 landings as well as flights that I've let the co-pilot fly (when he doesn't kill me) that are in there as well. It needs a lot of work, but is still my favorite flight simulator hands down.

Perhaps it has some form of cloud saving with that? Thats interesting

after msfs Patch 1.8.3.0 the freeware liveries don't work anymore :(

rename them to example, liveries-Asobo-c152 then they work fine

In the nebraska bush flight.. the Navlog suddenly will not load properly. It just loads the outlines of the display and the stopwatch function. But no actual route information, making bush flying unusable at the moment.

Also, in the A320, the primairy flight display randomly turns black. And I have no proper elevator authority during the last phase of the flight.it will not give me any pitch up when low and slow. dangerous. And also making the A320 a very unintuative and anoying experience to fly. The whole "flightregimes" bit does get in the way of flying fun a great deal. I get why aviation enthousiasts are still Boeing fanboys if the real thing handles anything like this. Not touching the A320 for a while. Patiently wating for PMDG's 737. Please bring it.

Please also fix the achievement tekst for "By the book". The tekst is wrong. it should be about getting landing clearence and landing.. Not about starting the A320's engines.

I played the game successfully UNTIL the update. After the update the VFR map was broken so I uninstalled then reinstalled MSFS 2020. After the reinstall, I can't even start the game, - it crashes to desktop on start. Now it is completely unrunnable.
