I probably would be better using the keyboard to steer it, but the method above seems to give me some weird satisfaction when I eventually line her up on the runway. If it is as hard as this in real life those guys at boeing need to sort their ♥♥♥♥ out! LOL
Pretty hard indeed, I avoid taxiing this where possibe!!
The real aircraft (as with all big jets) has a massive nosewheel authority on the ground. I tried taxiing as per the real aircraft and ended up with a turning circle similar to an modern aircraft carrier. It seems better if you make turns between 5-10kts and lead into the turn much more than you would for real. If you taxiied the real aircraft like you have to in this game you’d end up on the grass, no question. In the real world on the -10 for a 90 degree turn, you would taxi through the centre-line until it was well behind your shoulder before turning to ensure the main gear was clear.
You don’t require a duel throttle set up as you would virtually never taxi a large jet using differential thrust (different to taxiing with one engine shut down). Hopefully this can be fixed by Asobo.
max_speed_full_steering = Defines the speed under which the full angle of steering is available (in feet/second).
max_speed_decreasing_steering = Defines the speed above which the angle of steering stops decreasing (in feet/second).
min_available_steering_angle_pct = Defines the percentage of steering which will always be available even above max_speed_decreasing_steering (in percent over 100).
max_speed_full_steering_castering = Defines the speed under which the full angle of steering is available for free castering wheels (in feet/second).
max_speed_decreasing_steering_castering = Defines the speed above which the angle of steering stops decreasing for free castering wheels (in feet/second).
min_castering_angle = Defines the minimum angle a free castering wheel can take (in radians).
max_castering_angle = Defines the maximum angle a free castering wheel can take (in radians).
