If I had the money, I would happily keep up with the times.

Plenty you say? Well after quickly searching the MFS Discord, Reddit and Steam forums I haven't came across a single post saying it works on Win 7, even the official specs from Microsoft says Win 10. I should have seen at least one post pop up if "plenty" of users have MFS working on Win 7.

OP, you should be able to upgrade for free.

Why would you mark that specific post as the answer? It’s incorrect, and I haven’t seen any post saying it’s worked with Windows 7.

This game does not support Windows 7, or vice versa. Only Windows 10.

I don't upgrade to Windows 10 because my processor is very old, it's a second generation i5 (2320) 3.0 GHZ. Do you think it is convenient? I don't even know if I'll be able to run this new Flight Simulator! The rest of my setup is 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1660 Super.

You need a new CPU, surprised you have a 1660 Super. Doesn't make much sense with that CPU.

In fact the graphics card would be the only thing you save! I would love to create a new configuration keeping only the graphics card but now I lack the money. In any case then you are telling me that I would not be able to play this new simulator .... right?
I bought the graphics card because thanks to a person I had an excellent offer that now I'm not explaining, an opportunity to take it or leave it so to speak.

FS2020 only works with Win10 (on PC's) because MS no longer supports Win 7. lso because MS wants you to use the XBox Store in Win10. This is not even a feature in Win8.

Now, why they did not allow it to work in Win8 is beyond me since FS2020 uses DX11 not 12 which is exclusive to Win10. Even Win 7 supported DX11. I'm sure it all came down to marketing.

Shame that FS2020 does not use DX12 or Ray Tracing but I'm sure it may soon. I hope when they fix the problem with the space under bridges.

If I recall they do want to move the sim to DX12, I don't know anything regarding RT.

The correct answer is you need Windows 10. Regardless of any other hardware you have, you need to upgrade to 10. If that means upgrading your CPU, then so be it.
No get with the times. WIndows 7 is an old and outdated OS. Same with windows 8.

I've seen people since the alpha saying that they got it working with Win 7. Until one of you internet tough guy judges tries it yourself and it doesn't work, then I'll just go with what I've seen others say. Just passing on what I saw others say rather than being a judgemental DB telling people how outdated they are, why they're stupid for not upgrading, the system requirements say win10 so that must be the only option you have, etc. Paino75, you won't get any good answers here in reality. Best option is to try it yourself and see. If it doesn't work, just refund it.

It literally doesn't work on all versions of windows 10. You need a version of Windows 10 that came out in about the last 18 months. it has dependencies that are not found in the original versions of windows 10 that came out 5 years ago.

it isn't about being a tough guy. Its just reality.

Or.... if it doesn't work, upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10 and get it working.
