So when can we get REAL aircraft rather than this Garmin-powered nonsense?
I want my aircraft to be ANALOG. I can't stand the glass cockpits that have utterly taken over this version. How long until we can actually get something that feels like an aircraft and not a spacecraft? I'm really having a good time tooling around in a 152 shuttling around (presumably) gas well workers in Pennsylvania courtesy of FSEconomy, but I'd much prefer a 172, but the one I have available has the Garmin cockpit which I don't like using.

Come on, MS! Not all of us want to fly "the ultimate in electronic higgledy piggledy." Some of us really really liked FS2004 and all the analog and cables and wood that those aircraft had!

Hopefully the first DLC introduced will be from the classic age. I'd snatch that up in a heartbeat.

MS should have done a better balanced mix between GA aircraft with glass and GA aircraft with steam gauges. Its not the presence of glass cockpits that "annoys" me a bit, its that they are so totally and absolutely dominant and almost no steam cockpits are left in the DeLuxe version.

Bad mix, because almost no mix at all. Is this Microsoft Garmin Simulator 2020?

Glass cockpits is also the future of Aviation though, gauges will eventually be phased out completely.

3rd party will add in analog, Microsoft might but they're also focused on helicopters.

Don't care about the "future of aviation." It's boring. It also doesn't explain why pretty much every aircraft has one in MSFS.

You needed the deluxe edition for steam gauges.

Great, I don't care that you don't care. It doesn't change the fact glass cockpits will become the new normal.

3rd party will be the ones to add classics first, they'll also have higher detail. I wouldn't hold out on Microsoft adding classics TBH.

It's immaterial that they may or may not become the future of aviation. Selling modern aircraft is not the purpose of MSFS. If you want to fly with one all the time, that's great. Whatever floats your boat. However, don't come to me with "they are the future of aviation" with the implication that I should either like them or go away.

It's highly annoying to me though that MS was apparently so infatuated with the glass cockpits that most of the aircraft have them. I have no desire to pay an additional $80 or whatever so I can get the ONE aircraft I really want and I don't want to pay $30 for the 182 in the marketplace...that has the infernal glass cockpit.

I’m not sure who you are arguing with or why even. Basically, your argument is “I wish MSFS was a particular way for arbitrary reasons. And because it’s not, I’m mad”. You’re acting like a child. Move on, nobody cares. Yes, you should either like them or go away.

Wait for the A2A 172, it's a 1999 R model.

That was so yesterday.

I feel the way the OP does regarding glass cockpits. At first I was very resistant but after adjusting viewing positions I have adjusted to some of the glass cockpits. The ones with the G1000. One thing that I do not like, however, in FS 2020 is the lack of popup windows. In other flight simulators on aircraft where the instruments are difficult to read, the ones with glass cockpits because the text is very small, at least there are popups for those gauges to enable the flight simmer to more easily read those gauges. Especially for those of us with aging eyes that don't see as clearly as when we were young.

Someone stated that the OP needed to purchase the Premium Deluxe Edition in order to get aircraft with steam gauges. Well I purchased that version and there are quite a few that have steam gauges and most of those aren't what I would like to fly. It's not that the aircraft aren't done well, it's just that most of them are just slow.

So I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of at least some payware aircraft with steam gauges. I would love for Xtremeprototypes to do their lear 25 for FS2020 and I would like to see a couple of fast twin propeller aircraft with steam gauges. But until then I have adjusted to some of the aircraft in FS2020 that I enjoy flying.

The OP's point is perfectly valid, and I'm sure many flight simmers feel the same way. There's nothing childish about his desire to fly in analogue cockpits without having to be financially raped by Microsoft first in order to do so.
Although, if he ever does wish to momentarily regress into that blissfully mindless, carefree state of immaturity, he can just follow your lead.

I beg to differ, the tone and content of messages in this thread seem to me to display an 'I want, I want, I want' disposition.

While the point may or may not be valid, this has nothing to do with content.

And a question, how does a purchase on your part, by free will, in any way constitute being 'financially raped'.

And on to the main topic, there are planes in the default release that have 'ANALOG' gauges in them. And progressing further in time more aircraft will become available that will meet the wider audiences likes.

And then here I am only flying the fully digital fly-by-wire 787 dreamliner.... *sips coffee in my cockpit... Then get told off because it's illegal now*

No. Because you both prove otherwise.

The majority feel otherwise.

This is a non-starter. And you should be smart enough to know that. Its pure drama, appealing to lesser emotions. Faulty. Stupid even. Stop.

Wouldn't he just follow yours?

You have this less than flowery text, that has a super crude execution yet you think you are saying something smart.

Start your life over.

Farewell, and cheers. No need to respond. Don't waste my time, yours or anyone else's.

Well you need to scour the internet for people doing freeware planes then. There are a few sites out there but the way the SDK is at the moment I am not holding my breath for anything soon. The SDK is hard to program and MS didn't really ship it with many instructions on how to use it.

You can zoom in to those screens and set a custom view using CTRL+ALT+#1-0. Hit ALT+# you used to select that view. Not as good as a built in popup but better than nothing.
