Heck, We have Grand Theft auto...
A game where we can have sex with hookers then kill them...
Then kill the cops that come in response to that...
Then the military after that...
People need to realize that it's just a game...
WHY...because, you CAN STILL TRAIN AND CRASH INTO BUILDINGS...you just don't see the damage affect from the crash.
In GTA you can run around and get shot 10 times without flinching,if you did plan something like that on it it would fail completely
True but guess what?
MSFS 2020 isnt even what real pilots use to "Train" with.
The in house cockpit simulator I sure is all custom.
Here is a video of two Cessna's having a mid-air, thankfully this was a skydiving run so even the pilot had to wear a parachute. The pilot of the wingless Cessna jumped out and the other was able to land. Thankfully all survived.

How is this any different from GTA ? A game that models after real cars/planes/tanks/motorcycles ect?
That's the point I'm making here.
And if anything.
X Plane is more of a "Simulator" than MSFS.
MSFS is good graphically but heck...
It only comes with Tutorials on how to fly a Basic Cessna.
If MSFS was a SERIOUS Flight "Sim" then it would be far more advanced than X Plane.
And it's just not.
Crashing Planes sucks Irl...
We all get it...
You know what else sucks Irl?
Pretty much everything that can kill you...
Would it not be cool if we say for instance.
Add'ed Birds to the game then had Bird collision Emergency landing scenarios ?
With the added visuals of the engines burning ?
You gotta admit, that would amazing...
What about a bent Prop after a Bird collision? Or bent wing? Or broken windshield from Ice?
They might not want it or like it but that doesn't mean they prevent it. There's no reasons other than design choice by the developers / publishers for Microsoft flight sims lacking things like this...

Edit: And this was the path MSFS would have taken had 9/11 not occurred.
Using GTA as a refute? C'mon, The closest real life has got to GTA-esque fantasy is when someone stole a tank in 1995 and someone else had an armored up bulldozer in 2004. If I remember right with the latter the ANG was thinking of lobbing a Hellfire missile at it but ended up not doing so.
You think if you went over to Textron Aviation and said "Look guys and gals, wings fall off in reality so they should be in MSFS." An Airworthiness Directive is out for the Cessna 210 because of issues regarding wing spars. Do you want RNG on those too if a Cessna 210 is ever added? I've been in this hobby for over 20 years and flying in real life for about that amount of time too. Crashing is NEVER on my mind. Is it a reality? Yes. Should it be replicated correctly? No, there is no need for it.
Terrorism cant be respected like this just because of 9/11.
I feel that, by not making this a Feature in the game they are basically giving into the effect that terrorism has had on us in America and it seems like an easy Cop Out just to save their arses from the Backlash that would inevitable ensue from all the snow flakes in the world...
And that is how more rules are created...
Less freedom is given to express your own art style or views or opinions and boom...
Terrorism has won in that aspect...
We have to sweep 9/11 under the rug in the most basic regards as far as gaming goes if we ever want to advance.
Politics have no place in video games...
Deleted the wrong bit sry.
I practice air emergencies all the time, and sorry I'd like to know that the landing in the field I just made because the the engines cut off for whatever reason was survivable or not. If I actually landed the plane in tact, or ripped off just the gear, or the wings fell off etc. The way it stands now with real damage on ... all you know you died, or you made it 100% there is no in between. And for something thats a simulator it should let you know. IMHO
If I hit a bldg Im dead and so are my passengers, I get that I dont need to see the fireball etc, but what about that landing I made with deadstick on a freeway / road / field did I make it, did my passengers make it. etc.
And yes GTA is a terrible thing to compare this too.
