Hide hud and control plane in 3rd person???

I would like to know if there is a way to control the plane in 3rd person vies but without all the hud.if i press insert, the game hide the hud and i have fre cam but im not able to control the plane.
i would loke no hud but while controling the plane. Is there a way???

yes it is under CAMERA settings. Yes maybe a bit confusing. External camera settings under options.
