How to know if an airport has a fuel station?
Sorry for my English.

I wish to know if there is any way to know if an airport has a fuel station. I've run out of fuel mid-air and was trying to find a nearby airport with a fuel station. I landed in two different ones but none of them had them (very small airports). Is there any way to know if a nearby landing zone has a fuel station? Is it marked in the VFR map somehow or anything like that?

I'm new to simulators, enjoying it so far. Sorry if my question is dumb.
Fly safe!

I would THINK most airports would be able to refuel a plane. But do not know, nor can I answer your specific question....which is a good one!

i DO know you can use the "Repair and Refuel" key assignment in Controls, to refuel your plane pretty much (so it seems) anytime. Pick a keystroke or joystick button.and assign it.

I know if I landed an empty plane safely and the airport couldn't refuel it, Id be pissed, and so would not consider this a cheat.

This menu shouldn't exist but that's my opinion.

I use a small plane to travel around the world. If it does not exist, I must fill the fuel tank for numerous times :papyrus:

Well it's a simulator you should fuel at fuel stations but of course Asobo should add a fuel station to all airports and some airstrips, I also fly multiple legs on bush trips but I hate using this menu for immersion sake.

People fuel planes at landable places with no facilities whatsoever. What is wrong with being able to do so in game?

Oh, I didn't know about that menu. I will check it, but as you all said, it feels a bit weird to fill the tank that way, haha...

To make it more realistic I will do it as @Skeletor suggested. Landing in an airport, checking if there is a fuel station and if it is not I will pop up that magical menu and fill my fuel as if it was there.

Thank you so much for all your opinions and information :lunar2019piginablanket::lunar2019piginablanket:

If you are planning your trip ahead of time, I have seen many airports with a fuel parking spot that show in the list of gates and parking of the airport.

If you are already in the air I'm not sure if or where you can find that information.

In the real world using VFR charts. Airports are indicated by the maroon (untowered) or blue circles (towered) on the map. If these circles have tick marks coming out of the circles, they provide fuel at the airport.

Very useful information. Thank all of you.

Why not? Its a sandbox. It is up to the user to tailor the experience to their interests.

If you are going for realism, then how about Asobo gets rid of the opportunity to fly the aircraft without a pilots licence, and if you crash even once you are done; your virtual life dies, the game uninstalls.

Sounds rediculous right? Ofcourse it does.

I use airports charts for fuel locations Free Official US FAA Charts (always current airac cycle): https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/digital_products/dtpp/search/
