Most people just simply look at the price, and the 2 hour experience and instantly conclude it's not worth the price. Instead of looking at the potential and the actual value of this game. Which I think it is expensive at $150 for the premium deluxe package bundle. I'm not arguing about that. But the value I get from that price, plus it's something that I will be coming back to when I'm bored over and over again for the next 5-10 years, without even having to pay for anything else (unless the marketplace has something that I really want to have). Makes it a very worthwhile investment.
Issues will be fixed, the game will be updated, and contents will always be added. That in itself is a value worth considering.
i think for me the bnest approach is to delve into x-plane 11 and get fs2020 when all child diseases are gone. ive seen some gameplay where peeps flew under the bridge and died because it has an invisible wall. game looks nice not dissing just waiting a bit
maybe in 3 months ill get it no biggie
I only fly GA in flight sims so I can’t comment on other craft.
Also the joystick sensitivity is jacked. You can manage it, but it’s the one thing killing me right now.
Myself and countless others have either refunded if fortunate or kept it ( because they have little choice ).
I have had a number of lessons in a Cessna.
I am not a qualified pilot by any stretch of the imagination but I know basic aerodynamic flight physics etc.
You can make the ' game ' very difficult for difficult's sake but it still is not replicating reality.
It produces a pseudo feeling of being able to fly.
Take the Cessna. Take it towards ridiculous ceilings, head nose down full throttle. 100ft or around pull up maximum and what happens?
Nothing the Cessna pulls up almost vertical and then slows and you can gain stability without flaps, throttle etc.
Reality is :
1 ) The dive itself would begin to destroy bodily aircraft structure.
2 ) If it survived the afore said pulling up ( of which in the real world cannot happen at said heights would rip the wings and probably the tail apart.
I believe I have described by simplistic analogy some very basic yet fundamental facts about one aircraft and the problem vs reality.
Making a 'game' more difficult for difficult's sake can be rewarding of course but it is still a game.
I have zero problem with it being a game but alas it was/ is touted for being a simulator.
Anyone that has had even a couple of flying lessons would tell you exactly the same and if required more specific detailed instruction.
That being said it is not for me but obviously it will be a good game for many and nothing whatsoever wrong with that.
For children it must be awesome but for those of us who are adults with some flying experience we cannot delude ourselves that we are in a simulator.
I hope that everyone has a lovely day.

Nice. I have MS 2020 flight simulator. It has great graphics. But Im more interested in fighters. If you still want to play hit me up. No bad feelings, just fun.
I have to say I agree with those that say this is more of a beautiful scenery viewer than a flight simulator.
I'm not sure I agree about the difficulty settings. With flight model/difficulty at realistic, I was flying the Cessna and banked slightly too hard, and died lol (black screen, no special effects). Same later when I dove too fast. So to those who don't have this experience, I'm not sure what to say.
The issues I am concerned with are the ATC (I always play offline). It just seems like it was better back in 2004/FSX. You heard voices that sounded real, and you heard ATC talking to all of the other traffic. Here I can sense synthetic voices (they sound clear but not realistic), and I almost never hear ATC talking to other planes. Sometimes (server?) I hear nothing, but the text goes through, so I miss some calls if I don't have captions on.
The flight planning is a little odd to me. I'm going to wait and see how and if it improves.
I enjoy it because it looks great. Some things look really silly, but I'm hoping that's my computer.
The fact that I have a very small hard drive limits me from installing all kinds of other games, but I would keep this just for the visuals, and fly P3D for more serious (Aerosoft Airbus, airliner flights with ATC) things..
I would wait as you have already decided. For me I was bored and figured I had the $70 laying around which I can save on not drinking beer for a while lol.. or something.. so I wanted to try it knowing I wouldn't get a refund. Time will tell as I still haven't jumped into an airliner yet.
Just buy the microsoft game pass for one month for $1 and try it yourself or steam and return it if you don't like it. The 2 hours limit on Steam doesn't matter just tell them it took 5 or whatever it take to dnload.
It doesn't cost 119.00 it starts at 59.99 and Google maps (its actually Bing map) is what the world looks like so if you want a sim that doesn't look like real life then don't buy it.
For every video or post by an actual pilot saying its got unrealistic physics there is another saying its very good. I reckon its probably somewhere in the middle. It's not massively accurate but unless you fly a real plane you will probably never notice. I feel the prop planes are quite twitchy but you can lower your sensitivities to make them better. But this game is just amazing in every other department I wouldnt let a few physics put you off getting this. You buy games for different reasons. If you cant bear flying a plane with slightly easier dynamics and are not bothered about views out of the window dont get this.
Its a personal thing. I buy games to play as games not pure simulators, this game has a good balance for me.
Its definitely not an 'arcade game' like War Thunder lol. In terms of combat flight sims its not DCS, its not War Thunder, its not Rise of Flight, it's not Falcon 4.0, its not Wings Over Flander Fields. It's more like Rowans Battle of Britain or European Air War. The dynamics arent the main point of the game. But that is the default aircraft. Who knows what the specialist aircraft manufacturers will come up with.
Well wouldn't it be nice if the charged by the minute. lol
Just because you can't think of anything to do doesn't make it a rip off. Have you ever flown an Airliner? Try doing that and you will have your hand full , try landing in a hurricane, Pretend you're delivery good. Jeeezz have some imagination or does MS have to do everything for you?
