Noob friendly

I have never played flight simulators. But I am seriously impressed with the looks and feels this game gives. Just as I would enjoy casually driving in a sim across the mountains I am of opinion that I would enjoy flying through the sky admiring the landscapes.

However since I possess zero skill or knowledge related to aircrafts, would it be possible for me to still play and enjoy this game without being overwhelmed with the controls?

I don't have a flight joystick and the button panel (forgive my lack of knowledge and terminology). Ideally I would want to play this sim with just WASD and my mouse button. The landscapes, weather and all that is what attracts me, not the technical complexity of actually controlling/landing an aircraft. But the freedom to decide the course on the other hand does attract me as well.

I am sorry if this all sounds stupid, it just proves how clueless I am when it comes to flight sims.

Yes very noob friendly. Has several settings you can change to make it super easy to control. The experience is totally customizable.

You can disable all the nag alerts and ATC warnings and just do what ya like.

Also, you aren't the only one that does that, so don't feel bad. Despite how things are perceived, a lot of people are super casual.

Lastly, I should mention the game also has a nice "skew" mode, and the ability to pause the simulation.

Skew mode lets you cheat, basically disable physics so you can manually move the craft with pin-point precision if you wanted to get a look at stuff without using any skill. Then turn the sim back on and glide around from there.

Oh wow that sounds really neat! Especially for people with no skill or experience like me that still want to enjoy the sim

Yes. If you want to fly like in GTA 5, you can. If you want to fly like a real pilot, you can.

Can you fly with keyboard or mouse? I don't have flight stick but I can do sick landings on keyboard, that are butter smooth. :D

That's a relief. I know I'm no flight simmer, but I'm persistent bastard and I was able to land well in FSX using PMDG MD-11 after disabling some switches to allow it to control on keyboard well.
