Game Suddenly Won't Start

I can't seem to get this one game to play. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. It was fine yesterday so I can't think of why it won't run. Any ideas?

Edits: Ah, it seems something is wrong with OpenAl32.Dll or whatever it's called...

Same here. I just updated my AMD drivers and then it wouldn't start anymore

Uninstall the OpenAI thing then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Puzzle Quest and run the oalinst.exe manually.

Seems that program is a piece of junk and bugs out randomly but since you need it to run the game... you have to manually reinstall it whenever it does.

Oh right.. it should just be in your normal Program Files folder if you're not running a 64-bit version of windows.

Hmm that's all I did to get mine working through... I did use revouninstaller to get rid of absolutely everything belonging to the messed up OpenAL along with uinstalling and reinstalling the game it's self after I manually put back the OpenAl.

Doesn't work for me either.

I've tried reinstalling the OAL, compatibility mode, run as admin, still no luck.
Weird thing is, when I activated and installed it on monday, it worked without problems, yet I couldn't run it yesterday and today for no apparent reason. Since there are more people having problems, the only thing I can think of is some conflicting update for a seemingly unrelated software or something.

If it helps, it seems the game tries to start up, but nothing happens (not even already playing).

Just returned from work and started the game. It works!! Weird, right?

Yesterday I have installed that oal over and over again, no effect. And today I'm in luck.
Maybe the pc needed a reboot after installing...

Same here, the game just suddenly works. I noticed that steam updated itself, not sure whether that's what fixed it, but I can't think of anything else.

Well... It died. I haven't made any changes to my PC whatsoever. The game just refuses to start now. Ugh.

Game doesn't work as of latest non-beta Steam client update. Beta Steam client version doesn't work either.

Mine is still currently working so... it might be something else other than the non-beta steam.
