Nick name changed in Fresh Meat ?!?

I was playing as normal, when a bug of the class ( i was level 3 sniper ) but in game i'm 1 again, i exit and the level is ok but my name is changed in "Fresh Meat" and now i can't change the name ? Why ?? On steam my name is Bombo89 ! Why the game use that name ?!?

I have had Killing Floor for a few years and I just ran with the name Fresh Meat. last year I found a console code that I would put in from then onward that would change my name for a round. But recantly I changed my steam name from ?Ghost? Nightfall to my actualy gametag Supp0rt Marine, I logged into Killing Floor and bam. My name was Supp0rt Marine.

Moral of the story try changing your name in your steam settings a few times and then check back. If that was not what fixed my issue then I don't know what did.

Oh and Fezarella I have been playing solo and online alot and all the time my name was Fresh Meat. so I don't think that is it.

just a thought with saying lvl 3 and then 1 again. Maybe its a mutator

It happened to me but I just disconnected from the server and reconnected

Here is the console code that I used for some time. setname(name). just open the console ` put that in and were (name) is put your own. How ever you have to do this once a round. temprey fix but it works.

You need to "verify the integrity of your game cache" for Killing Floor. That will fix this.

Ok everyone understand when I tell you all about Fresh Meat. He's a hacker!!!! He may even work for TWI or Steam. I've been dealing with him for years now. He will troll you and give you a hack that changes your name. If you are playing on a server and see that name , leave and validate your KF files to remove the hack. Good Luck . He will now troll me again for telling you all this, but i'm never stopping.

I was in a server server ip 104 129 24 13 7707. I changed the format because I don't want people going there.

It is a server that keeps making you reconnect over and over, and the first 2 times it had my name, but from then on my name was "Fresh Meat", even though all my game had been doing was reconnecting over and over and over (faster than I could click disconnect).

Its not a "hack", (or if it is its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ one) cuz I can join other servers just fine...

I'm thinking, use the 'setname' command in your config file then make it "read only" (right-click, properties, check box 'read only')...
NOTE: You wont be able to change settings in game, BUT either should any one else be able to...

I learned the trick from counter-strike (1.6 particularly), because they would rebind keys to "connect to 'server ip'" for a grenade button, or all kinds of other random and annoying stuff.

Hope this helps... I may try it myself if it becomes an issue, so if anyone that has this issue tries this and it works please let us know. I will do the same.
