leveling and welder

Do you know why I have to use welder to gain level? I am on level 3 and to reach it I needed to weld and unweld door multiple times, this is just stupid, but to reach level 4 I need to do it much more!!!! Why? Can I replace it with shooting?

It is to encourage you to weld as Support. If that was part of the leveling, I bet most wouldn't bother welding doors.

Yea I play as support and I want to reach next level but it's just impossible because on many maps you don't use welder at all, and the only way to gain experience in welding is to "cheat" by weld-unweld same door all over again.

Play as the other classes for awhile and weld the appropriate doors in order to survive like always and you will never have to worry about it. Unless you're only playing as support specialist then you're going to need to weld/unweld doors excessively.

Well, it's because welding the doors on strategic places is a part of Support gameplay

Go to aperture and wield/unwield the uber door. It takes like 4x longer to get open.

There are plenty of maps where welding is crucial like offices or suburbia, depending on the team configuration and whether or not the team decided on camping. You won't get it in a day but that's the whole point of it. It's an achivement

Ithought this would be a problem as well, then I started playing on Hard and above difficulties.....welding is extremely helpful and is actually leveling faster than my shotgun damage.

It's worth all the leveling, a level 6 support perk spawns with a double barrel and is a mighty badass of zed-killing glory.

I do not use the boomstick until about wave 5. I use pistol for wave 1, then buy a shotgun or hsg and use that until the scrakes come out. :) It's not needed until then.
