There's a small chamber behind that door with some weapons and a golden potato.
To answer your question, nothing happens, it only worked during the Portal promo (or so I was told).

No no no. It releases the Craken. Every where in the game it warns against opening that door. Sooner or latter someone falls for the " there is hidden treasure in there" line and insists on opening the door. Then you very quikly find out why they sealed the door.

No one has succesfully resealed the door after opening. Probably because you don't live long. Pay atttention on the map, read the walls, DO NOT OPEN!

It is an achievement, but only during the Potato Fools' event when GlaDOS is the trader.
