Achievement Help Please- "Finish Him"

I've skimmed the forum for this achievement and didn't see it. Apologies if I've missed it. I've owned this game since the beginning, have the disc, and a few dlc's.

To get "Finish Him", you need to hit the Scrake with the M203 rifle grenade to kill it. I've done this several times, I thought, but the achievement isn't awarded- can someone tell me what I'm not doing right? I play solo, on various maps, I've used just the M4 203's grenades to kill it, other damage then finish it with the rifle's grenade, still nothing. Just hitting it once with the grenade doesn't damage enough even on beginner to kill it. Help will be appreciated. :)

achievement isn't bugged, you're probably doing something wrong

i think you need the undetonated granade to do it (fire it near point blank) i did this just a few months ago but i can't recall exactly however i think you can soften him up and that just the finishing blow has to be the granade, hope it helps

I 'think' I've done that, but I'm going to retry it. Will try detonated and undetonated.

you can't get that achievement cause it's a christmas-event achievement. why i know this? cause before last christmas i wanted the Highlander achievement and i couldn't get it untill christmas (Dec 15, 2012 11:29pm)

maybe a bug like some of the halloween achievement like october zed.

Some achievements can't be unlocked in Solo mode, try hosting a listenserver instead.

O.K., I just got it :) I was on Moonbase/solo/beginner as demo. A Scrake paused at the edge of a drop down -I've had crawlers do that before too, it's like they get stuck there. Anyhow, as it was just standing there I lined up a headshot with the M4 203 and fired the grenade from half across the room on the lower level and it removed it's head and the achievement popped up. No prior damage was done to it so maybe that's part of the requirement. I don't know. I've fired the grenade at it before -I keep thinking I did a head shot, but maybe I didn't hit it cleanly, because it didn't die, but it did this time.

Anyway- thanks for those that provided helpful advice. Much appreciated. :)
