Don't quote me though, it will vary with what level you are as a commando, and with how many players are playing.
Generally, someone else should deal with them.
Alternatively, you could join a Hell on Earth difficulty server as a spectator, and see how better players deal with fleshpounds. You probably won't be able to replicate the results exactly right, as you have lower perk levels over people who typically play on HoE.
1. Damage <too much too fast>
2. Seeing you for more than 10 seconds
If you run around things you can kill a Fleshpound with your 9mm, it would take time since you can;t do too much damage too fast, but it is the safest and easiest way I know to kill them.
The fastest I guess would be a really good sharpshooter, but I normally go for Support with grenades and AA, soloed Offices HOE that way, so it works for me.
Berserkers (and medics but it takes forever for them) can safely kill them by melee kiting them, but that almost requires the FP to be the last/only thing alive near you.
Firebugs, and commands don't really have a good way to take them down, aside from doing a little damage (not enough to make them rage), taking cover to break their line of site, repeat.
Whats up! Hey guess what? If you make a stupid post to get a stupid steam badge, you can immediately delete it so you don't seem like a dumass, but it still counted for the badge. BLAM ! Mind blown. The more you know.....
If you are new to steam, there is a GUIDES tab at the top of each forum. Its the second to last tab on the far right. All the guides are free.
