how do i play with friends?

There is an online multiplayer. But you can also play only with your friends, if you start a server on your own. If someone of your group has problems with connecting to the game, you may configurate your router.

You have KF by Steam or by pirate? If you have the first enter to the game and play multiplayer and search any server.

You can host a server using Hamachi or if you Port Forward. To host go to host game and click Listen, or Dedicated if you have another computer to host with

there are plenty of servers out there, no need to host your own unless your connection is beasty. Once you or your friends pick a server, you should be able to see it in the "Friends" tab in multiplayer. Another option is to "invite" your friends when you joined a server.

If you want to play on a server:

First, you can simply find a server, remember the name, and tell your friends to join that server by finding the name.

Second, if you have Steam (which I think Steam is mandatory for KF) you can join on your friend via Steam's friends list. If THAT doesnt work and it fails to join a friend, Steam will say "server is no responding". If it says that, it WILL show an IP... something like 127.0.0.1

With that number, just load killing floor, open the console ~ (tilde) key and type in the word "open" and that number

For Example:

open 127.0.0.1

It will force Killing Floor to load that server.

Thirdly, create a group in Steam and use the group voice chat. Or, Killing Floor has it's own Voice Chat in game, with the voice chat command being Capslock by default. "T" opens text chat. V opens commands.


Hosting your own is another story, and honestly, not worth the effort. There are plenty of empty servers out there to join on.

I cant seem to find any servers in my servers list.
