No one can join my game on dedicated server
Whenever my friends try to join my game in Steam when I'm on my own dedicated server hosted on the same computer, it says server not responding. All my ports are open, but when ever I use an online port checking tool with the Killing Floor server open, it says the ports are closed. I tried setting my Minecraft and TF2 dedicated servers to ports 7707, 7708, etc. and they say open, but Killing Floor still says closed.

However, if my friends connect with the open IP command in Killing Floor, it works fine and they can join. Also, if I start a listen server, they can join my game fine from Steam friends. I've tried disabling the windows firewall, putting my static ip into a dmz, and lots of other solutions from Killing floor websites, but it hasn't helped. If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it!

i used the software at PortForward.com to check. websites aren't accurate because i didn't find one that can check UDP ports. if you're sure you're doiing everything right, then you should check whether ports are blocked at the ISP level. nothing you can do about changing that.

I have all of the open ports set to both tcp and udp. Whenever I set my Minecraft or TF2 servers to run on those ports, the websites report they are open. I assume this isn't the problem and that my are open.

did you try to get them to type in your IP directly in the console steam of joining through steam? because if you join your own server then it's your local IP that's shown (192.168.x.x)

No, I was joining it through the LAN page on Killing Floor, but oddly enough, my public IP 71.81.whatever was showing up in my friends view game info of my game. They copy and pasted it into the console of their game and they could join. I'm just wondering why they can't join from steam.

If you use tunngle it will be easier to host games.

7707 is the default game port, in order to make the server respond to Steam server browser you have to open additional ports. http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=30579

try to set in KillingFloor.ini the Internet IP as Hostname, because when your server start to tell the GameSpy Server your Status, there get "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" for connecting and this is wrong.

I'm not going to use tuungle, I would rather use a listen server. I have all of the ports suggested opened correctly. Deepsurfer I don't really understand what you're trying to say. Thanks for all of the help though.

I have the same problem too, now all I do is just join randoms :/

What DeepSurfer wrote is that when you join your server (which is on the machine you're playing on) it displays your private IP to your friends which just works in your LAN network at home but not on the Internet. Therefore, you have to figure out your public IP.

The website displays your public IP, all you have to do is add the game port (7707) to it and your friends will be able to join using this address.

Thanks Mutant. My friends say that in the view game info box, it displays my public ip which is 71.81. whatever else.

Maybe there is a firewall blocking your ports (ensure that KF.exe and ucc.exe/steamcmd.exe can communicate through your firewall). I remember a setting in KillingFloor.ini called "bServerBehindNAT", set it to true.
