Trying to create a server, Steamcmd crashing
I've been following the guide on the Tripwire Wiki here:
http://wiki.tripwireinteractive.com/index.php?title=Dedicated_Server_(KillingFloor)

But everytime I run Steamcmd, it crashes and says "Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again"

I've tried:
Disabling my firewall, and adding an exception specifically for Steamcmd
Changing my Internet Options to "Automatically detect proxy settings" with security set to the lowest it can be
Restarting my computer
Running Steamcmd as an administrator
Praying to Talos
Making sure Steam wasn't online, and that no steam processes were running while running Steamcmd
Ensuring that Hamachi and its processes weren't running

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I haven't been able to find a solution so far!

close steam, then locate the steamcmd then right click it run as admin, when the prompt comes up put in your login details, then run app_update 215350,let it download files ,also if its the first time using the steamcmd then u have to check your email for the security code that steam has provided for u,enter that code and start again with the login app_update 215350 or just use app_update 215350 validate, hope that helps

I'm now able to join my server, but it kicks me out after the first wave and I get a Steamerror 12.

The server doesn't seem to show up in the server list, but I don't have access to my router settings and can't open ports. Because of this, I decided to use Hamachi to try and allow some friends to connect via LAN, but they can't see it either even when they're on my Hamachi network
